Default Jodie Meeks to the Lakers-- Official

Just loading it on at this point. Why bother having a season? Nash finally has his ring.

Meeks isn't terrible.

He can really fill it up from the outside and is exactly what this team needs. Role players that can shoot it.

hahaha

wow and this is why people make fun of nba fans. so dramatic. nothing is guaranteed in the nba. year after year we see this hold true yet still we have fans that get strung high on a roster that looks great on paper.

the lakers are still the second best team in west in my opinion.

now that said i think this nba season is going to be awesome and would love to see a heat lakers finals but it is NO automatic.

Just a portion on the MLE. 2 years 3 mil and the bench continues to fill out. Shoots 37% from 3 point land.

He is a good shooter. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the Lakers rotation.

I was hoping they went after Barbosa instead and give Andrew Goudelock a chance since he is virtually almost the same player as Meeks in my opinion. But oh well.

This is like every Mike Bibby and Mike Miller thread from 2 years ago.

If Nash/Kobe/Howard/Gasol stay healthy then the Lakers will be in it – I don’t care what Jodie Meeks does or how he fills a “role”

Meeks will excel in LA and will shoot between 40-46% from deep. He will get looks that he has never seen before in LA. He had to shoot contested and deeper than he wanted to in Philly due to lack of personel. He will contribute in a big way off the bench in my opinion. This is a great pick up. I'd take a role player off the bench that can shoot it for 1.5 million a year all day on my team.

Finally he gets a chance to show his talent on a big stage. Hopefully he will take the opportunity and excel in LA!

How can you say that nothing is guarenteed then make a statement claiming the Lakers as the 2nd best team. How do you know if you havent seen them play yet?

Change Meeks into Mike Miller and this was written word for word 2 years ago

Having watched him the past 2 years in Philly, I can emphatically say, yes, he is terrible.

Maybe if he is WIDE OPEN he can make some shots, but otherwise, he is not an NBA caliber player.

Good then heed to your own advice and dont argue if someone thinks that the lakers are a lock. ITS THEIR OPINION

Come on, really? Gonna shoot 46% because no one will contest him as much in LA? Really?

Hes a career 38% 3 point shooter, I doubt it jumps up almost 10 points because the weather is nicer in LA or whatever other ideas you have.

Hes a good signing, a strict gunner but hes not shooting close to 50% just because Kobe and Dwight are there.

Meeks is huge plus, He'll be able to stretch the floor for the Lake show and with Howard and Gasol inside Meeks should see a good share of open threes.

Lol

Maybe you should learn to read. You have issues starting fights with people about things they didn't even say.

So is an opinion a guarantee? Lol at your arrogance.

This is a great signing. Above average shooter and adequate defender. Finally someone who can spell kobe for more than 5 minutes without having to worry about the other team carving him up like thanksgiving turkey. Finally a legit backup to spell kobe for 15+ minutes a game. Our bench is looking beastly.

I said 40-46, and you took the higher number. He will shoot between that number. Flag this thread and I will eat my crow if he doesn't.
