Default Someone fill me on Andrew Bynum

Over the years and watching basketball in general, I rarely heard any positive things when talking about Andrew Bynum. How he acted against Dallas in the playoffs a couple years ago put him on my "#@#@#@#@#@#@" list. I'm a Sixers fan and I know he's still young with a little more room to grow in the talent wise, but bum knees. But I don't know if he's matured at all.

Can someone fill me in about that?

I think he has a lot of pottential that will never be reached unless he changes his attitude. He can be good. But its hit or miss. And injuries have been a problem with him

Yup, really bad attitude, has sown potential to dominate on both ends of the floor, but those glimpses are few and far between. Throughout the course of the season you will see him act immature, look like a franchise player, not even try on defense and probably have an injury scare.

enjoy!

i don't think bynum likes being told what to do, and i don't know how collins will handle a stubborn player who refuses to listen.

could potentially be a problem

I think he respected Phil. But his biggest sign of immaturity as a player came when he told Kareem he didn't want to be trained by him anymore in 2009. I think Bynum has a tough time listening to authority.

As a Laker fan, I am glad to see him go. That should tell you something.

He's just a big baby, and doesn't handle high pressure situations as an adult should.

Well, the East will be the Heat, Pacers, and maybe the Bulls (gonna be hard without Rose for most of the year). The hawks might be ok too, same with the Nets, but I don't see it out of the realm of possibility that the Sixers could walk out of there with a 4 seed, the Heat Pacers and Bulls will probably be 1, 2, 3 in the East, after that, its a bunch of unproven teams with potential.

I agree...not a 2 seed though and that's what some of the radio hosts are saying since Bulls won't have Rose for a full season.

I think they are on par with the Knicks, Hawks, Nets (possibly). Mid 40s win total

What about the Celtics?

You can say whatever you want, Bynum is still the 2nd best center in the league behind Dwight Howard... But if I was a sixers fan I'd be more worried about his recurring knee problems than his attitude or anything else. Not saying his attitude isn't a problem, though.

Is it just me or is it crazy to think that Bynum is the 2nd best center currently in the NBA? I just don't think he is that great. The NBA center position isn't what it used to be. I miss the days of Olajuwon, Robinson, Ewing, Mutumbo, Shaq, and Alonzo Mourning.

You are right. He is the second best center in the NBA, but that isn't saying much these days.

Ugh...you mad because your team missed out on getting an impact player?

I think it's completely logical, if you look at their roster, to predict them to be a 2 or 3 seed (I would personally say a 3 seed, as I see one of the "olds" faltering). They have a VERY deep team, a bunch of young players coming into their own, and their biggest weakness, big men, has been addressed.

And yes, he is the best C in the east now. Hopefully his maturity goes along with his increased role as the focal point of the team.

Tyson is a pretty good center in his own right...Bynum is better offensively Tyson defensively...just depends what you need out of them. I think this is a good pick up for Philly assuming he can stay healthy and keep his head straight...

Celtics are a year older, don't have Ray Allen anymore, and don't seem to be getting that much better.

Age will catch up at some point, and I think it will be this year. Garnett I think spent everything he had in the playoffs last year, and the whole team seemed to know this was the last year they had in their prime.

I want to say the Celtics are a .500 team. Good enough to get into the playoffs in the East, but not good enough to be in consideration for the East with the 76ers and Nets there to most likely take it.
