That now means 5% (20 of 400) PMG Greens have surfaced on Day 1. Still 25 minutes left (EST) to up the Day 1 total.

First reported/public sale still hasn't occurred. Unless one of the BIN/BO ends first, the 1-day auction of Adrian Dantley will be the first to finish.

I will say if had several offers of 500-550 on my olajuwon. So I think that's where people want to be on these at this point. Honestly think most will start selling at 700. I bet once 1 sells it will start a steamroll

It's official...on my point of view...this set will not be as valuable as its predecessor..

Back in the day these PMGs were so hard to pull even the scrubs....

Day 1 and a lot already...

But no LBJ or MJ greens yet...

none of the BIG hits have shown up yet...

eBay is FLOODED ... the value is in the cards, it's just too much at once causing the low prices ... buy now if you can haha, these will start to dry up...cases are already starting to dry up!

DACW sold their last two cases on eBay for just shy of $2k each!

There were /10 from 97 for the green
There are /10 from this set.

Its one in the same when it comes to # of cards. Demand is different and available supply is greatly different.

Its all perception. If you cracked a case of 24 boxes or 12 boxes from 97 at $70/box (im assuming the price was around that), $800 or so for 12 box case or $1600 for a 24 box case, you were probably bound to pull 1 green if that. If you buy 2 cases you should be able to pull one out or retro. 2 cases will run you about $3000.

While the 97 were out of 200 players, these ones are out of 40 odd players. While it was much tougher to pull a specific green from 97, the price has been adjusted accordingly to pulling one from a short set.

Again its all perception. Demand will set the market price. Hype will take it for a ride for the first bit then the market will settle and thats that!!

I kinda have a feeling that once these cards do "dry up" people are just gonna go back to collecting the originals. These versions would always have some value, but nothing compared to the originals.

In my opinion, the fact that 20 of the 400 PMG Greens surfaced on Day 1 doesn't mean they are "easier to get". Back in the early 90s, with the original PMGs, internet forums (and eBay) didn't exist yet - so you didn't know how many were pulled on the first day (or week). So we are comparing apples to oranges.

And since the 20 surfaced yesterday, only 4 more have surfaced today. So 5% of the PMG Green population being shared on Day 1 is not that many, seeing that so many people pre-ordered and busted their boxes/cases right away.

This whole tracker exercise is simply a "fun" way to see how the hype for this product (and particularly, this insert set) drives the sales of the cards. Not only for the first week or so, but for months. Like me, people are curious if (a) these PMGs will stack up against the originals and (b) if they will sustain their early sales figures.

Should be a fun follow, which is why I'm doing this. Regardless of theories on shilling, fake sales, etc. etc. ... hopefully, and I believe, the majority of the transactions will be sincere and real.

The problem with that is, the old ones are COMPLETELY dried up!

With these, many will still be housed in cases, along with the Jordan buyback 1/1 autos.

It's almost impossible to find an original metal box, and they're not only expensive ... but you can be left with $8 worth of cards for whatever it costs.

At least these boxes will have what seems like 1 PMG, with a few other inserts that are at least $10+ each.

And not only the shot at a PMG green, but also the big jordan 1/1 buyback autos.


So this set should remain as valuable. Of course the singles won't be as valuable as the old ones, but as for adding intrigue to the old ones ... I don't see how that's even possible. They're already $1000+ for big name reds. And the greens are untouchable, even for most commons! that is all IF you can even find them!
