After the end of the 2012/13 season. Don't expect UD or Topps to return to basketball. UD doesn't have the money to compete and Topps already said they have no desire.

I think Topps is forever gone in terms of basketball, but I wouldn't be surprised to see UD try to come back in the game. Financially their situation isn't good but seeing how they still furiously are trying to release constant basketball releases after another I don't see them going down w/o a fight.

Wouldn't mind though seeing Leaf or Press Pass given a chance at a contract.

So releasing less then three basketball products in a year is "furiously are trying to release constant basketball releases after another". Not to mention the fact that it took almost one full year to release retro after its initial release date.

People complain about Panini's 2011-12 release of only five products. Upper Deck is using pre-sales to generate the needed money for production. There is no chance Upper Deck has the funds for the contract and also produce at least five basketball products per year.
