Default For anyone who has a job involving going through peoples houses/apts?

I was thinking, since I do construction and often go into peoples apts to do work, has anyone done this and saw a nice collection of cards or possibly even bought a card out of someones pc? Also since we all collect cards, do you ever worry about technicians coming to your house and possibly scheming on robbing you if they see your collection?

When you go into their APT and see a collection, are you going through it when the tenant isnt there?

working on an ambulance for the last couple years, been in some houses where you seriously had to put vicks vaporub under your nose to avoid getting sick. you guys would really be amazed how bad some people get with the hoarding and what not and dont clean up after the 60 cats they own. ridiculous.....

that being said. i've yet to pick up a patient or drop one off and see cards displayed.

lol... I work construction, and the people give me a key to their house, and even tell me to go in the fridge and eat anything I want. I do the work without thinking of even looking through people's stuff, that's just wrong! I wouldn't want somebody else to do that to me. At the end of the day they're just "things." They're not worth selling your soul over, and definitely not worth your reputation! I could care less if the person would have a high end basketball card collection sitting there......... sure I might tell the person I collect also, and ask to see them while the people are there, but to go sneaking around when a person is not there is just not my style at all.

I went to a house, the householder was like 70+, and he has a great vintage baseball collection (saw them because we had to move them cause he had them displayed on the wall and in a "furniture thing" really don't know how to say it in english) where we were going to put the A/C system. Didn't bought anything from him but we spent like 1 1/2 hour after I finished my job talking about cards.

I had some packers move my stuff. I had a steelers nerf football and decided to give it to one of them. All of a sudden, they were asking me if they could have this and that. I had a box of beanie babies and one guy asked what I was going to do with them. I told him to take some. I think he took about 40 of them. He went overboard as I meant a handful for his grand daughters. He also set aside a box he had taped up. I shook it and it felt empty . I asked him what was in it and he said he didn't know. Nonetheless, I didn't like that.

Was this during the lockout? I heard some players were doing odd jobs, which ones was it? Did you ask for their autographs?
