On a 12 box case of a regular product that costs a dealer $900, dealers typically only make $250-$300 on the case and thats before credit card fees, cost of keeping the lights on, etc. So when they get an opportunity to make REAL profit on a product, they need to take advantage of it. I'm sure if you are a loyal customer that doesn't run to another dealer because they are $5 cheaper, that your LCS will give you a good price on a hot product. But unfortunately for a LCS, most people go wherever the price is cheaper (I don't blame them, that's just what a LCS has to deal with). Loyal customers who would trade the $5 savings for a fun LCS experience will most likely see better pricing on hot products.

Also I've do a majority of busting boxes from my LCS (actively since 2002) even though they cost slightly more and just using the internet for other things like buying singles.

For the majority Upper Deck is not trying to help the LCS. My local shop on the south side of town was not even offered a chance to get any exquisite direct. Upper Deck is all about taking care of the authorized internet dealers, thats where the 2500 a case came from. I know that direct cost from UD was right at 400 and distributor pricing was at 450ish. The only shop in my area that will get it is charging msrp of 600 a box for it and both cases are already sold.

i really dont think there is as much of this as people are thinking, they are saying that their is 1 jordan per case so that means there is a ton of cases, i see it as the opposite thinking there wont be as much as you think

I called most shops in my area and more than half not even sure they will get 1 case. And if they will, they're saying check back on release date for the pricing so thinking they will just price it to the going rate. I men if u own a small card shop, I'm sure it still sux to be selling fleet retro case for $1500 a day and the next day see it go up to $4000 and u feel like u just lost $2500 so stores are going to try to avoid that this time around.

i dunno guys, I don't see how this Exquisite BB can do well...the best part of exquieite were the rookie patch autos and mj/lbj/kobe patch autos.....none of which are going to be in this upcoming exquisite. even if ud got brazen and decided to include "event worn" college jerseys (where the player literally puts on the jersey for 1 sec and takes it off) it would be a huge cluster f*$%, as the cards would be viewed by many as a sham.

The LCS can sell it to friends or friendly member, then he/she re-sell it online. I just think the LCS kept the promise to sell everything on the first day at $1500, and did not keep it for a week longer.

Perhaps, the LCS this time is smart enough not to sell it at MSRP, but rather telling you that "I don't have it".

I consider myself a MJ Exquisite collector and I have ZERO interest in UD non-licensed MJ autos...I will not spend a dime on these MJ UNC "Exquisite" autos. I would rather buy a Exq MJ Enshrinements hard signed card than these upcoming UNC autos.

well you are one of the few i have talked to atleast a dozen and 10-12 said they will def be getting some. But anyways i agree thats its not even close to the same as the old but i think it will do well look a retro (just autos in the set) it did well

Keep in mind that back in the days (03-09) UD exquisites were 1500 ish upon release . Now with no jersey/ patch, UD cost of making this should be cheaper.
So for US, collectors, it sucks to pay more for less ...
I m sure you can understand that.

After talking to few people , I believe it is NOT the LCS, rather the Distributor, are the ones holding on to it and saying " don't know if I ll get it"
And keeping the price high ( close to 2500 )
Because, if DA and Pitt and others do that, why wouldn't I?

National Treasures will be $600 a box at least . Retro has screwed up the market for awhile . People will still buy it but it will take longer to sell out .
