Panini comes through - John Wall /10

About seven months ago I sent a gold standard Ray Allen prime jersey auto in to panini because the foil was peeling at the corners.

Fast forward to about a month ago and I get a phone call asking what players I collect. I told them lately I've been building a John Wall collection.

Today, this comes in the mail (03/10) (Not for sale or trade btw)

Great win for you, but that's a card from a recent/new product - why are they using it as a replacement already? I sure hope nobody has a redemption for that card that now can't be fulfilled... blimmin Panini...

They were out of the ray allens so they sent me this one. But yeah, someone else's redemption isn't going to be filled unfortunately.

When they come out with a new release, the open some boxes to promote and to test the packing out. The hits they pull go into the replacement pool or sometimes they go out for comps!

But this particular card was a redemption... Are you saying that Panini would have opened a box and received this redemption, and been intelligent enough to realize it wasn't going to be redeemed because they had it, and could therefore ship it out as a replacement?

To me, that doesn't sound like Panini...

Definitely doesn't sound like Panini but they did come through and sent me a card I didn't already have of a player that I'm actively collecting. Either way, it slightly redeems Panini in my eyes after all of the times I've been burned on $200 boxes of absolute crap.
