Default Need takes on fantasy keeper TRADE

I play in a 12 team, 9 category roto league. We each keep 8. Last year finished 2nd. Right now my squad will be:

LeBron James
Kyrie Irving
Dirk Nowitzki
Marc Gasol
Pau Gasol
Danilo Gallinari
Arron Afflalo
Andre Miller

I was offered this trade:

I send LeBron James. I get John Wall, James Harden and Danny Granger.

This is the first offer I ever got for LeBron that has made me seriously think about it. What say you fellow fantasy b-ballers?? After trade my team would be:

Kyrie Irving
John Wall
James Harden
Dirk Nowitzki
Danny Granger
Pau Gasol
Danilo Gallinari
Marc Gasol

I say no.

Your team might have more depth then, but I think not having a 25+, 8+, 7+, player is never a good thing.

I say no wayyyy. I would not even consider that. John Wall is a big risk and does not put up good fantasy numbers. Granger is good but not amazing. Harden was very good last year in fantasy but in no way am I doing that for LeBron James. Your team seems better to me the way it is now.

You need help in assists, blocks, pts, steals for roto... No way I'm trading Lebron unless I get better in all 4 categories I need help in...(wall out for 2 months also) And you would take IMO a sizable hit in fg% that would offset the points gained

Very hard to trade away a top 5 fantasy guy. I appreciate the opinions and insights. I'm just having a hard time deciding if I would rather have 5 top 20 guys with LeBron or 8 top 35 guys with the trade.

I hear ya on the FG hit. I also plan on drafting top PG available when I pick at 11 regardless if I make the trade or not. Hoping Lillard falls to me there. Wall out 2 months? I thought it was 1 month, back at end of November. Two months from now

Going by last years stats, you get (not sure what your 9th cat is)

slight drop in Points, FG %, boards, assists

Gain FT %, stl, 3pm, blocks

H2H I may do it, Roto, wall is already out 8 weeks

wall is TO prone and fg % is terrible (guess it depends on scoring of your league).

also either or both harden and granger are set up for an off year.

keep lebron

No way, Granger and wall will lower your field goal %. Never mind the fact that wall is not until December, missing all those games in roto is just a big downer.

they technically are in the trade as they would not be kept

oh and there is about a 5 year avg age difference, (nicely skewed by miller being 90)

So essentially it is Afflalo, Miller, Lebron for Granger, Harden and Wall

and Lebron by himself is more valuable as you know almost 100% what you are going to get.

that was my opinion as it seems many others feel the same...

And actually they literally aren't in the trade.

technically Afflalo and Miller are not part of the deal. However, they might as well be since they will be dropped and not kept. So in essence it would be like swapping LeBron, Afflalo and Miller (only being kept for cheap assists) for Wall, Granger and Harden

Your team looks like it has rebounds covered with the gasol's, you got threes with galinari, dirk...The guys you would get in the trade are all definitely scorers, your team can already score. Your best asst guy is probably leborn as much as Miller. I don't think you ge that category with the other three as much. So you are giving that up. Leborn fills that stat sheet up, where thoe guys take 3 roster spot, and might drop your asst. fg%, and t.o.

Thanks again for the input fellas. Recently received a few other offers for LeBron over the past few days and wanted to run them by you guys as well.

1.) I trade LeBron
I get Lawson, David Lee and Marcus Thornton

2.) I trade LeBron
I get Al Jefferson and LaMarcus Aldridge (big names but destroys my assists and steals)

3.) Trade LeBron
Get LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Jennings and Kyle Lowry (hmm..)

4.) Trade LeBron
Get Melo, Curry and Ibaka (not a fan of this one at all, but including for the heck of it)

theres a reason people are willing to give up three players for lebron.

a classic fantasy rule is if there is a two for one trade (in this case a three for one) that one is usually a stud. You always want to be on the side getting the one...
