Heard a interesting debate today on Jordan vs the other greats (mainly Kobe). The argument was what if Kobe won 2 more rings, would he be better than Jordan. The pro Jordan debater said he would never be better than Michael because Michael never loss in the finals and Kobe, Bird, and Magic has.... Thoughts?

Winning on a super team doesn't count!

But seriously if Kobe wins two more championships and is a major reason as to why they win I think the debate gets a lot more interesting...

no, i dont think so. look at what each player has accomplished in equal seasons. i also think kobe has had more talent surrounding him leading to the team success he has had, and this isnt saying jordan's bulls did not have incredible talent or that they were not well coached.

I don't think it does because if they win it will most likely be led by Dwight Howard which is far different from Jordan who LED his team to the finals with his best player being Scotty Pippen who no nowhere near the talent level of Kobe's team mates (Shaq for 3 championships and now has howard)

I also don't think never loosing in the championship is a reason that Michael Jordan is better

If rings matter then why do we not say russell is the greatest?

But then we bring up teammates and level of comp. So it's ok to bring teammates up when talking of russell but not jordan? Or is it that most people debating the topic have seen jordan play (probably grew up watching)
vs having never seen russell play.

It's a unique argument, the point being Jordan in the Finals would never anything stop him from winning the ultimate prize. And Kobe couldn't will his team past the celtics

I love Kobe , but i hate that people say if he wins one or two more he may be greater than Jordan , Kobe may be the closest to Jordan as far as killer instinct , but Jordan would not allow his team to lose let alone get schooled by a Paul pierce type ,like Kobe did in the 2008 finals i think one of those games Kobe only had like 4 pnts in the 4Th quarter you know why i cant remember Jordan doing that in a big game ...because it never happened, i don't buy into this Kobe has had better teams argument that's nuts pippen , rodman , grant , Jordan had great teammates so its not about that its player vs player , and at times Kobe was not the best player on the court ..Jordan always was. and Ron artest ( i refuse to call him MWP) is nuts if he thinks this team will go 73 - 9 ,that record will never be broken , don't get me wrong unless a miracle happens and drose comes back better than ever ( come back d rose we need u) my bulls will not win this year ,so i hope Kobe does get his 6Th this year , but better than Jordan...never gonna happen
