Default Quest Cards Thread...Very bad idea... :)

Hi,

I just want to give an advice to people who are planning to open threads like this...about trading up on stuff ala "Barter Kings"

Just like to let you know that this is a bad idea..It gives you the much needed publicity but it is for the wrong one.

People will eventually know your quest and at the same time might avoid you more because they know you are looking to get a deal in your favor just to trade up.

So IMO, I think just go on your quest, chase the dream card then let us know when all done....

I was thinking the same thing, but some people might trade down to the person to try and help the person also. So i think it can be both good and bad in a way.

The only reason why these types of journeys work is because people feel sympathetic towards the cause and give as a gift or helping hand. If anything, most people that post that they are trying to do this are advertising for free money and hand outs. Just my 2 cents.

You really think someone can turn $2 hankie into a $200k home like the one reported in the news a few years back?

I think the kid doing it is dope, the other people...meh.

Its cool if he does it all off of the forum (ebay, LCS) and reports back on the board.

Kind of gives people a blueprint!

I don't think people will avoid it. they know what they will and won't accept for a trade, so the other person's intentions are irrelevant.

not everybody is looking for a handout. if they are willing to trade 2 cards for 1 even better one, that is not a hand out.

But to some extent their options become limited because people will know what he got it for and such....

And if you are in a quest, it just sucks that you will need help (money-wise) at least for that will be cheating.

Just like in "Barter Kings" they trade straight trade no cash....

so it's kinda anti climactic right? but oh well just my 2 cents

i wish all who does it well and get the card they want

It isn't just a matter of relying on handouts at all!

Read one of the comments in the Bill Russell thread.
He says he sold a Luck RC after a win. Therefore he is using his brains to expand the value of cards he picks ups.

Also, if someone has a card I want, I am usually happy to trade in their favour for it, so it is no big deal!

Good on them I say!
