I guess we will find out tomorrow.. It will be a lot of undercutting..

I agree Panini has ruined the Kobe situation. I don't collect him so i'm cool.

I don't agree with the Kobe/MJ comparison with people using Kobe as an example of how Jordan could become if he is overproduced. Kobe has much less of a following in comparison to Jordan. Who wouldn't want a Jordan auto? I believe that supply and demand is key, and the demand for Jordan autos is much higher then Kobe autos. While Kobe is getting heavily produced with Panini, he is in 5-10 products potentially a year with each having high print runs of him. Jordan will be in much less products in comparison. For example, I HATE the Lakers and because of this I wouldn't want a Kobe auto. Jordan, on the other hand, tends to not really have that many haters as he is almost bigger then the sport. For these reasons, I don't believe it will easy to overproduce Jordan.
I don't study the market as some of you tend to do, but this is simply my belief.

If any product was gonna take a hit on Jordan autos it was 10-11 SP Authentic, they pumped out tons of letters, floor cards, tons of sott.

But still after the thousands of jordan autos in that product, the prices have been pretty consistent around the $400 range at minimum.

My LCS has it at $699 a box and he's already sold it all on pre-commits.

More Kobe and MJ autos the better. Gives more people a chance to own one at cheaper prices. Anybody thinking guys are all of a sudden going to stop signing are pretty dumb. It's easy money for them.

Think about this would you rather pay $2000 for a product that yields $300-400 in hits including a Kobe auto, or $2500 and yield $1000 in hits on average?

Show me the math with the 10,000 plus Kobe autos. Break down every set for me.

UD is a three legged stool, and one of those legs is very brittle. Feels like this release is one of a series of last ditch efforts to keep them afloat until something changes with licensing ( if it ever does) It just seems silly that there is one Jordan Auto in every case, you'd think that this would "cheapen" the pull. But, Jordan collectors are rabid so it will not matter.

It may not matter straight away, but over time, with this release, Retro, ATG2 and all the rest coming, it will start to have an effect. Kobe autos didn't flood straight away either! It was the amount of autos in the amount of releases that did it!

In the past year and a half I've heard that Upper Deck was going out of business more times than I could ever count. Except they keep putting out release after release that has done incredibly well for them and has held in value if not gone up. To me, they have been successful with every major release including their non-sport stuff like Avengers. Even if this bombs, they have had a pretty good track record compared to Topps and Panini.

I've heard that too. But now with NHL on strike, hockey is basically dead. They don't have any NFL releases and very few football in general. So they are relying HEAVILY on NBA collectors to carry them. Dumping 1100 Jordan Autos I think is evidence of that. All I. Saying is. It SEEMS like this is an act of a desperate company trying to see itself by capitalizing on its stud spokesperson.

I have one case coming, but I'm going to give an entirely realistic, and honest answer. And no, I'm not '100 percent positive' it's even going to be a hit.

But, the exquisite cards of key players from previous releases can still be found on ebay, but on a limited basis. Even if there's 20-30 Jordan limited logos on ebay at any given time, you can't tell me that quenches the need for all jordan exquisite collectors worldwide, including in Asia.

I think we experienced this phenomena first-hand with the Retro PMG's.

But I think the bigger winner long term is flipping this wax sealed. I say that because all previous year exquisite sealed boxes have increased in value multiple-fold. But then the only real big pulls in those are the key RPA's from each year. Most of the Jordan autos (if not all, I'm not sure) in those boxes were redemptions and are long expired.

So really, if all the Jordan autos in this Exquisite are live, then these sealed boxes/cases should retain if not increase in value over time as well. I think that's the key to try and 'compensate' for the lack of true rookie RPA's.

But we shall see though.
