good deal for the thunder i guess...they definitely weren't going to be able to keep him with the rest of their young guys. and did you guys watch harden in the finals last year? was pretty sorry...i wouldn't hate it if i was a thunder fan.

They couldnt afford him and continue to be competitive outside of Ibaka, Durant, Westbrook.

It had to happen unfortunately.

Not a problem but they were going to lose him to Free Agency. They got a nice piece in the deal (Lamb) but Martin is a high volume chucker that does very little else and will not be able to fill Harden's shoes.

Hmm...honestly, I would've gambled, even if they do eventually lose him to FA.

More than talent, Harden, KD, Ibaka, and Westbrook had a good chemistry in OKC (At least I believe they did) and it's sad to see it broken up.

Houston sends two 2013 first-round picks (from Dallas and Toronto) to Oklahoma CIty, source tells Y!

Houston also sends a 2013 second-round pick (via Charlotte) to Thunder.

Absolutely, I think the Thunder killed it as well. They obviously had a pretty big clue that Harden would be gone if he didn't resign in the off season so I think they definitely came out on top.

Ya i think the Thunder came out great on this trade. Im not a huge fan of Hardens game anyway, he was a real choke artist in the playoffs last year

They have a young group so I think long term it made sense. I do not see them coming out of the West this year though without Harden. So a step back this year to build something even better a year or two down they road.

Houston plans to give James Harden a four year, $60 million extension once deal is completed, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Thunder pushed final offer to Harden to 4 years, $53M-$54M, sources tell Y! When that couldn't get deal done, Presti moved into trade mode.

I didn't see the Rockets as a contender for Harden. Very surprised they got him.
Good deal for both deal though I think.
I wonder if Harden will start?

I'm a Knicks fan but i'm looking forward to the rockets this year. Lin, Parsons, Harden and Oshik, bright future for the rockets. They are a very young team but they should mature very well together.

The Rockets have become a very intriguing team to watch.

I still would have rather seen OKC pay Harden close to the max and bite the bullet on the luxury tax. He sucked during the finals, but he was money during the rest of the year.

Yeah, I agree for the most part of what you're saying.

I'm not buying that this makes the Thunder better this year.

IMO, this just made the Lakers the favorite.
