Completely agree with this.
From my one experience (not sure if it has changed, doubt it has) the second chance offer is at the highest amount you were willing to pay/your max bid, rather than what it would have ended at had the winning bidder not bid. That seems all sorts of wrong, unless it was assuming the seller had multiple copies, which in the market of mid/high-end cards is extremely unlikely.

If its so easy to tell it wasn't legit why did you keep bidding against the four other bidders?

What second chance would you have accepted?
