Sports Betting (NBA and NCAA)

There is one on the football board, so I figured I'd get some insight from those of you on this side...

Do any of you all bet on NBA/NCAA?

Wanted to get a discussion going on best plays, line movement & other things.....

Who do you like for opening night?

WAS/CLE -6
BOS/MIA -6.5
DAL/LAK -8.5

I'm liking Miami to cover opening tipoff and against their rivals. Ray Allen is gonna go off on his old team...

Don't know about the Cavs and Wiz. Two of the worst teams playing each other, it's really a toss up...

I like the Lakers, but not sure if they will cover. Kobe's hurt. Dwight maybe a little rusty, but he's going up against Eddy Curry lol. Lakers lost all their preseason games, so maybe they will turn it on because it counts now???

Your thoughts?

I put a 155 GBP (about $230) bet on the NBA today. I bet that the Heat, Lakers or Thunder would win the championship at odds of 1.41 (so, $230 x 1.41 = $324, i.e. $94 profit if the Heat, Lakers or Thunder win). I get my money back if the Spurs or Celtics win.

i think i'd take all of the favorites to cover...maybe not the lakers actually...i think the cavs will cover probably the biggest lock of the three. betting this early is tough tho! will be waiting a few weeks to start making some big parlays...

wow, the wizards without John Wall and Nene? Hmmm... Crawford, Beal and Booker are going to have to great games tonight for that to happen. I like your picks though... Miami is still my definite choice here out of the three.

I went to see the Celtics vs Heat on the opening night back in 2010 when LeBron made his debut.

Everyone expected the Heat to win.

But the Celtics ended up winning.

yeah but the 2012 Heat is a totally different team than the 2010 Heat and you already know the 2012 Celtics are not the 2010 Celtics anymore...

I know that, but my point is that it's impossible to say how teams will do in a one-off game. There are always surprises. Good luck with your bets though.

I wish you the best but teasers in the NBA in my opinion have very little value and are very volatile compared to betting straight. I only like teasers in football and do quite well with them. Also, maybe we don't see the game the same way but Dallas +16 is more enticing.
