Also Nash might be in the mix (still) then maybe Lawson or Irving or a couple others.

At any given time 2-6 could be inter changed but overall at peak I would rank it like that.

I look at what each player does over a period of time and how much he helps his team nightly. My list is the following.

1. Chris Paul. He can do it all.
2. Rondo. Him Paul and Nash are the three best passers. Rondo is also a monster on defense. If his jumper gets better he could top this list.
3. Williams.
4. Rose. If he was healthy and playing I think he would be 2rd or 3rd. I just can't rate him any higher right now because he can't be out there.
5. Parker
After that it would be Westbrook and Nash.

The problem for me with rondo is he has been a huge liability on offense due to his lack of shooting. He has been a huge liability for basically 3/4 of his career. Another issue is his attitude. Both those things have cost the celtics games and series. I also have a couple other smaller gripes but who cares.

You may say well Nash was a major liability on defense. Well in my opinion that is easier to get around with overall team defense then rondos shooting problems are.

No doubt is rondos passing and defense strong but his weakness are very weak.
Other PGs in the league are a lot more evened out. Also guy like Williams rose Nash have not really had optimal situation rondo has had to play within.

Rondo could be an elite scorer in the leage for a season or two before his body breaks down Rose style. He can slash to the rim as good as anyone but Ill take a weak jumper and hopefully 10 points a night if it means getting a few more years out of him

Hes got a good layup, if he took more then 5 or 6 a game he would have much better numbers. And he would be like Rose in that his body would tear apart from so much abuse running in the paint

A PG is supposed to be a distributor. Do you not understand the NBA Game? The 2 Guard is the SHOOTING guard. Point Guard is supposed to spread the ball around SF is usuly the most versite player. PF is just that, a power player and the Center should be a good rebounder and have a faiy good back to the basket game. Are you Dense?

I am not sure of how old you are because you may have been immune to what was really going on then but many sports radio shows discussed this very topic and articles were written about how the NBA needed a different "Flavor" for the MVP much like how Jordan did not win 6-8 MVP's himself. Back in the day this was discussed at nauseaum.
