Default Official Indiana Pacers Fan Thread

I know there aren't many of us on the board but I am fired up for tonight's opener!

I expect huge things from the team this year and if G2 and Hibbert continue to develop I think the ECF can be expected!

Love that we added Augustin and am anxious to see what Gerald Green can do!

Lets Go PACERS!!!

Larry Sanders vs The Pacers - Extended Cut - YouTube

I remember there being some heated moments in some of the Pacers/Bucks games this past season. Especially between Dunleavy and Psycho T. They don't like eachother very much

Also Granger is a little bitch. I didn't mind him til that #@#@#@#@ he pulled last year on Sanders. He obviously was trying to cause a problem with that moving "screen" of his. It all makes for good TV though! :-D

LOL I loved that. Larry Sanders had 2 different chances where he could have actually got at Granger but he quickly stopped/wanted to be restrained.

Danny Granger is a dick head, but I love that. He plays with a huge chip on his shoulder.

Great game tonight by the Pacers. Nice game winning shot by Hill!!!

I live in Indy and have always been a Pacer fan. I actually stopped caring about them and watching the NBA after the Pacers/Pistons fight. It just left a sour taste in my mouth.

I've gotten back into it/them the past few years, and really think we have a great team, and if we can keep most and add some good players, we have a good shot to contend each and every year.

That said, I do miss Reggie, Smits, the Davis boys, etc..... Those were great times for the Pacers.

I got to go to a few games each season for teh past few years. My roommate's work has season tickets and they are in the Legends area, which overlooks the court and you get free food and beer all game. Makes it really fun!!

I agree Gurds. I used to have season tickets, but once they started beating up the fans and Reggie left I lost interest, but the end of last season was exciting and it's nice to see them building momentum again. I had so much fun at many of those Knicks vs Pacers games at MSA.. At least the ones I can remember.

I remember one time we finally beat the Knicks and people were going crazy downtown, jumping on top of School buses outside MSA, dancing in the streets, honking horns, etc.. it was a fun ride. Reggie was and continues to be larger than life.

Austin was a huge pickup. Especially seeing as Hill might not be 100 percent for awhile, he really can distribute the ball with ease. Just wish DJ would focus more on his defensive skills...

Some pretty bad officiating in this game tonight. The no call on west for the exact same thing bargnani got called for on the other end earlier. George hills hook on Lowrys arm on the game winner was ridiculous. Hibbert got a few phantom calls it looked like. An obvious deflection off a pass that got overturned for the pacers. Lots of contact on derozan but no whistles. West ran over Lowry in transition on one play with no call. Fields got hacked on a layup by George with no call. Fields got called for a travel for what looked like the hop step lebron does every night.

That was all off the top of my head too. It seemed very lopsided to me. I did think they got the call on the out of bounds play in the last minute right though.

Tough loss for the Raptors.

The officiating was bad, but it was at least consistent. They just let them play.

Pacers played sloppy last night, I'm just thankful that our schedule starts off a tad light so we can work out the kinks with all the new players and get George Hill back in a groove.

Gerald Green frightens me. I don't trust him with the ball in his hands. Good to see Lance Stephenson play better, has a way to go but the improvement is nice.

I agree on all points above - I saw the same things. I still loved how the Raptors kept the game close and exciting tonight. Tough loss on a close game, but the Pacers outplayed them when it counted. Pacers look good and will definite be a dangerous team in the East. West just feasted on Bargnani tonight.

Yeah it was a great game. Very exciting down to the last play.

West bullied Bargs all over in the fourth. Idk why they didn't throw a double team at him since nobody else in the pacers was doing anything at the point in the game.

The west push off and hill hook are still bothering me. Both happened right in front of the refs. Oh well... Still have 81 more games left

The reason the foul wasn't called on Hill was because Lowry reached in blatantly, and since they didn't call that, they can't call Hill's hook. The foul on Lowry would have put the Pacers in the bonus. Also, what Phantom calls are you referencing for Hibbert? It seemed the home fans got upset any time Hibbert went straight up and a foul wasn't called. All and all, it was very clear the better team won, and I look forward to a successful season going forward.

Great game last night. Pacers had lost this game and all momentum until David West put the team on his damn back with 14 4th quarter points.

I hope we can look to West all season to fill the role of leading scorer and team leader because I have a suspicious feeling that Granger will be out at least 2 months. Hibbert, George, Hill, Augustin, Green, etc. - all good players, but not leaders in any proven fashion, so they will need D.West as a leader to follow.

As for the calls, I was shocked at the contact that was not being called on both sides. As for Toronto, I'd be disappointed as hell in your team regarding this game but excited to be a team that looks ready to win 35-40 games this year.

Boombaby - Really? Lowrys reach was not a foul. You can reach wherever you want as long as you don't make contact. Hill grabbed his arm and pulled it over his head. That's the least arguable play that happened all night.

I'm not one to blame the refs for the outcome of a game. The raps blew an 8 point lead with under four minutes left so there are no excuses. As a fan of the game you just hope that with a game on the line the refs can make the right call.

Past my shades, you really don't think it was a reach in on Lowry the second before Hill raised his arm?

You can reach like that as long as the arm isn't creating contact. His arm reaching out into open air space made no contact on Hill until Hill hooked it and lifted it. It looked pretty obvious to me.

Anyone without bias care to chime in lol

Haha, my Pacers bias may be so severe that I didn't even see a foul. Especially with how little they were calling in general. But if this many people say there was a foul, I'm sure I'd see it on the replay... I just am not surprised at any no-call from this game with how it was being officiated.

Happy to be 2-1 while working through chemistry issues.

Paul George's line was ridiculous last night!

Glad to see the Pacers seem to finally be putting it together. Maybe there's hope after all! Lol

George Hill really stepped it up tonight
