I am the first to see a prodcut like Hoops and go ughhhhh or look at prestige and think its not exciting, but I'm not sure what some of you want Panini to do. There is a thread here where people are complaining about totally certified... I think it looks great. Cool parallels, nice patches, nice autos, I mean come on! And prism, the closest thing we have seen in 3 years to a Topps product that we all say we miss, so here I ask you, what is it that Panini or Leaf or anyone can do that would make it the product that would have no complaints IYO!

I mean to me the perfect product would be like what prism looks like with some rare chase patch autos, some 1/1 logoman, some jumbo logo tags and maybe /5 quad and /25 dual. otherwise nice sleek design with awesome parallels so you can get value in your box even if your autos aren't good. and i guess i'd add 4 autos with maybe a 2/3 patches per case so the patches hold value.

Not sure if I am off-topic, but somehow I miss the "inter-brand" on-card autograph cards like the Autographics sets released back in the 90's.
If Panini (and/or any other potential NBA-licensed trading card company after 2017?) could release large inter-brand on-card autograph sets in their products, then those products would look perfect to me no matter what. Haha~

there is no perfect product. everyone has complained that they want more autos and gu's cards. the cardmakers started doing it now everyone complains that theres to many "hits" and that they are not worth as much as they should be. everyone complained about panini putting so many serial numbered cards in their products, now some of the products do not have that many numbered cards, and people are complaining, why are there not alot of numbered cards or there needs to be more parallels. everyone likes different things and no company can make a product that makes everyone happy.

Each Private Signings set (if there are multiple) within the same NBA season is produced differently one way or the other, and each set is only for the specific product that the cards are inserted at. For example, the 2011-12 Grant Hill "Private Signings" card can be pulled from Gold Standard, but not from other 2011-12 Panini NBA products. The Dirk Nowitzki "Private Signings" card can only be pulled from Elite Black Box, but not other 2010-11 NBA Panini products. (Don't hesitate to correct me if I am wrong.)

That's why I miss the Autographics sets and also other certified early autograph cards even more. Back in the 90's and early 2000's most of the certified autograph cards are hard-signed, whether they are from low-end or high-end products. I remember that I personally pulled a Bobby Phills 1996-97 Autographics card from a pack. Even though it's not a high-value card, the moment that I pulled it, I felt like I was the luckiest boy in the world. Had it been a sticker autograph, though, I am not sure if I would be that happy...

![]() The only note (aside from "beware of counterfeits") that I could recall from them is that certain players didn't follow the "rule" when signing the cards.

Perfect Product?
97 98 Fleer/Skybox products as whole. Autographics of pretty much of all top players in the league in that time (No Jordan). Rare Inserts. #'d cards. Cheap packs.. No Junk GU. No Sticker Autographs. Heck, I don't even think they had redemptions cards other then the Draft Pick Cards.. That stuff was so much fun. Most of the sought after cards in the Hobby came from 97 98 Fleer Products. |

The problem is that on here, people or so damn negative about EVERYTHING!
There is a thread about a new release or card, they will post the 1 single possible negative about it, instead of listing the 10 positives about it! Just the way these pessimists choose to live, but it isn't for me! Life is too short to be whinging all the time! As for me, I don't think it is possible to describe the Perfect Product, because the prefect product for me has to have something Unique or Brand New! Something that makes me go "wow, I would never have thought of that". I think the closest things to that lately are the Exquisite Shadowboxes. Although I think they could have been executed better, they still wowed me! Other things I like: On Card autos! I know they have to include sticker autos as well, but as many On cards as possible. Also, DON'T mix sticker/on card within a subset. Like 10-11 Classics Moments for example, only 8-10 autos in the set, but some are on card, some are sticker! Parallels, I love a parallel as much as the next guy, but, like 11-12 Gold Standard, don't just stamp it differently, MAKE THE DESIGN DIFFERENT! In 10-11 GS, the platinum parallels are great. Checklist, Mix and match better. Sick of the same old checklist. I am putting the Superscribe Auto set together from 11-12 Gold Standard because they are sweet on card autos with a good variety in the checklist - stars and lesser player alike! /end rant

If you don't like them, then go look for the cards you DO like and collect them!
