This thread could bring up a lot of debate but just curious
Its pretty biased but I watch almost every primetime mon and wed tnt and espn game and abc Every established superstar like lebron kd durant cp3 tend to get the calls When they drive and its a questionable call it goes there way Melo gets called for an offensive foul everytime he has some sort of push off or anything he is the only superstar who doesnt get a single call any1 who watched last night would see in the last 2 minutes he got called for a charge after making an unbelievable shot down 4 in the lane carter slid over and was moving after anthony jumped not to mention carters back foot was touching the restricted area later down 1 he drove and beat shawn marion lost the ball and then got an elbow to the face by kaman with no call these 2 plays led to the shot when he had a wide open lane and decided to pull open prob because he had in the back of his mind that he didn't get a single call im not blaming the game on the refs at all because i never criticize refs but they definitely were not the greatest calls the knicks played awful all night i dont have a video of the awful charge call but if i find one ill immediately post it does any1 else not biased think melo gets no calls on the offensive end? on defensive he has gotten better but still overplays and doesn't think he fouls at all when he really does. He has to establish himself on the defensive end to try to even complain about calls not just this year but melo is a player who wants the contact and drives alot. he gets beat around and gets not a single call. When lebum drives and there is a little contact, automatic whistle Anyone else not biased agree or is it just me??

The refs messed up a few calls last night against Melo and you're right he should have been at the line at the end, but I don't think Melo is the smartest offensive player and he gets frustrated way more than the other superstars ...
This leads to him pushing off and just running into people A LOT more than Lebron, Durant, Kobe, etc. - The refs notice this and don't call fouls sometimes even when there's contact |

When he went for the circus layup, the defender was still moving. How was that not blocking? Then he gets borderline punched in the face? Still a no-call. If you look at some certain players in a bad way you get called for a foul in the league. Go ahead and try to argue they call it the same, but they dont.

Of the top scorers in the East, Melo gets the most free throws per game of any of them with 6.7 per game.
Yes, thats more than Lebron James. NBA - Statistics by Category - Yahoo! Sports Stop your whining.

Unrelated to whether or not he gets calls, but this made me chuckle...

It's similar too shaq in his hey day. People complained that he shot sooo many fts. But if you actually went back and watched the tape he probably should have shot more. One could argue that he almost got fouled every time he use to touch the ball. It's part of the game and the more aggressive the players style of play the more ft they tend to take. As mentioned Melos style isn't the same as Lebron.

No obviously just anything that calls out the truth about your golden Jesus of lebron getting treatment from the refs. Someone brings that up and it's blasphemy. In the playoffs last year lebron even openly stated how they planned to stop melo was to simply "beat him up for all four quarters" to keep on him. He would get tossed around ad no calls. Yet when he guards lebron an he even nudged him he'd get the whistle. But obviously to heat fans I'm seeing things or pulling that out of thin air. My eyes are really blind

Melo gets away with so many offensive fouls it's not even funny. The guy hooks his arm and pushes guys off with his off-hand like it's his job. Given this fact, I'm surprised anyone would complain that he doesn't get enough calls. He gets away with so much, presumably because of his star status. And this coming from someone who wants to see the Knicks do well.

In the last 5 years, Melo ranked 9, 5, 7, 7, 5 in FTA. Not exactly that he is not getting any calls.
I am in LA and watched Lakers a lot. So many times I saw Kobe got whacked in the head while driving to the basket and got no call. So it's the same...... NBA IS FIXED! |
