This. This is what appears to be the case. I love how after the game Craig Sager interviewd Pop and he asked him if he knew about sanctions coming down on him from David Stern. He basically said he hadn't even heard about it so why comment on it. Haha. Right.

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in:

#1 The Heat did not look interested most of the game.

#2 Pop and the Spurs did nothing wrong.

#3 I'm actually THANKFUL the Spurs did what they did, the way the Heat played, we would've lost the game with those other guys playing.

#4 David Stern is a joke and everyone is already counting down the days until he leaves.

#5 It's November, not March or April....

Fine, we played bad.

The reason I say that we played "disinterested" is because I know that they are capable of absolutely dominating a game, and when I don't see it, I get the feeling they don't care.

After all, there is validity that championship teams lose interest the year that they're defending their championship.

Maybe David Stern shouldn't schedule team A 6 road games in 8 nights when team B somehow had 5 days rest leading into that matchup.

How is that remotely fair?

Could be. They did mention this on Inside the NBA after the game. Kenny made the comment that teams do have letdowns when they know they aren't playing against the main guys on the other team. Chris Webber also said he remembered a time when his team did the same thing in certain games. Still it's no excuse. They should bring it every night. The Heat played bad and still managed to win so it's all good in Heatland. And no I am not a Heat fan.

This is classic Pop.

Pop is known for his sarcasm, his mind games and lack of care about the press or how the league is run.

Is it possible that a couple guys needed some rest. Yes thats possible but to take out all four players including a 25 year old and send them home is a slap in the face to the league and mostly stern. It is saying 'there is no rule ill do what i want screw you stern'.

and if you think pop really did it just to 'rest' his players with no alternative motive you are extremely naive and i will sell you some ocean front property in Kansas.

pop is a great coach but this is an arrogant move and i don't know what this says about him...

I'm sorry but if anything happens to the Spurs about this then any other team sits any player they should get something against them too.

Just think what's going to happen 3 months from now when the playoffs are closer. All those coaches that want to rest players before the playoffs won't be able to and of they do I bet whatever comes out of this will be brought up again.

Let every starter plays. Call timeout or make a foul right away. Sit all the starters for the rest of the games. At least Pop made the call before the game started. My example would make tons of gamblers mad

The Spurs were already missing Kawhi Leonard and Stephen Jackson - the 2 defenders that would have landed the Job in Lebron.

They had a hectic schedule against a reigning champ team with 5 days rest up their sleeve, in the Champ's home court.

The whole game was against the Spurs before they even flew in!

So thy decide to accept this game as a loss and send the starters home for rest, but more importantly, to give the Bench some big minutes and responsibility!

I feel sorry for any Spurs fans that went to the game, but tibia the nature of the beast. If they rest players now, perhaps they won't need as much later?
