I JUST GOT A COUNTER OFFER BACK FROM A SELLER THAT HAS ONE OF THESE AND HE WANTS 2K... I THOUGHT THESE HAVE SOLD FOR UNDER $500 SO FAR? AM I WAY OFF?

If he wants that much then why does he have the card at auction??

The last one was sold for 400 bucks, I think that will not higher.

These cards appear very plain and ugly,I have not seen them in person but

Absolutely 100% no, not worth $2k. I can't tell you what the market will be in the short term - heck maybe they will skyrocket for a couple of weeks, but in the end, nobody is going to ever convince me to shell out more money for the Kobe Gold Refractor than this:

while that is true, just look at PMGs. Lebron red PMGs in a HIGH SCHOOL uniform numbered to /150 sell for around $700!

i guess the short print and the hype will drive up the prices, but honestly, i keep looking at these in videos and on ebay but cannot convince myself that these cards deserve a super high premium. there are simply better cards out there IMO. then again, if you were a super collector that needed EVERY CARD, then sure, these can go for a king's ransom.

IMO the first one that sold for $400 was a bit of a steal, but certainly not even a $1,000 card to me... let alone 2,000

chris, just be careful with these (and any new Panini release). I remember when people were going crazy over the 10-11 certified parallels and thought they were the next coming of the PMG...some people crazy big $$ for them well, I am pretty sure A LOT of people got burnt on those unfortunately.

The one that sold for $400 was a BIN and sold within two minutes of being listed. That sale isn't really indicative of future sales.

For sure.. I figured if I could pick one up for about $500 I would but thats not the case. 2k is a little steep for me...

i think they are really nice but it should be no more than 500

What people ask for and what it is actually worth are two different things. I dont think there has been a reported sale anywhere near 2 grand.

The manipulation has begun. Bet you see a ton of relists 1-2 weeks later, when people get fooled by the prices.

Same thing happened to Retro, all sold high. Then the buyers never paid, but people believed they were selling for HUGE amounts.

I can't find the Kobe in the OP, or the Iverson thats show on down the page on ebay anywhere. Whats up with ebay search lately?

Ebay ended listing search is messed up. I think it only shows up like 2 days after the listing ended. So you gotta have the listing saved to your watch list if u want to see them when they sold. That really sux for new products since buyers/sellers can't see how much they're recently sold for.
