Default prizm boxes... buy now or later?

With all the hype of golds and ref autos... do you see box/cases prices rising, staying the same or falling?

It makes me sick to know Frank & Sons has boxes in $80 range.. no way in hell can i find them that cheap here in VA

I thought MAPP pricing prevented this

Not everyone follows the rules. One shop by me will have products at MAPP, another shop will be $30 less. Guess where I buy from.

Whatever LCS wants to see their profit margins at..... I'm sure Panini isn't sending representatives out to check prices at these places.

A lot of the big golds haven't come up yet. Now, a lot of people may be holding them, but I could see it go up.

its always fun busting a product that is supported by its parallels and not its autos

would be really nice if they added 2-3 more parallels..like putting the green in hobby /5 and perhaps adding a red /50

I think refractors will hold value.

I don't think people realize that there aren't that many of them.

Take a Kobe base refractor for example. With a 300 card base set, and only 2 or 3 refractors per box, that is quite a difficult card to find

yeah man

i fully agree. it is really tough to find the refractors of the big stars (better not praise the product further or ill sound like pinoymamba! lol)

but ultimately, the values still does not reflect the case prices...unlikey to break even at $1200 a case

I think the problem people are having, and something I actually like on Panini's part, is that the refractor's aren't numbered.

Let's say all the refractor's were numbered to 199, there's no way I'd be able to pick up a Derrick Rose for $15 like I did.

199 might actually be a high estimate, it might be closer to 150, but I don't think we'll over know

Yeah you know I mean I am a realist. I just want to expect to lose $200-300 and not $400-500.

You cant really find any though under 1200 and Ive been really trying

Is there only green refractors in the retail or are there reg refractors in there as well? That could hike up the ref version alot one way or the other.

Not sure, Prizm's just say 2 per box, so they might be Hobby only, and if they are retail, they are probably really hard to get

I agree, wish I didn't let my Duant go for $15, but oh we'll. Also just hit a Lillard refractor that I'll hold on to. Thinking once we realize how hard they are to pull, it will be worth more than they're going for now, $70. Anyone else find it weird that not many big name base golds have popped up?

Likely going to be a strong set in the years to come for reasons already well-known, with the huge base set, parallels, and double rookie class. Definately a wait-till-MAPP-is-done situation then buy a case or two to sit on if possible. Considering the Panini water-down, prizm should be the best of their releases this year, besides NT obviously and Preferred possibly.

Honestly I was a bit surprised. I think I was the only Lillard refractor at the time. I noticed a lot of the other ones that sold before me were BIN/BO and they ended up selling themselves short.

Actually, right before I listed mine a guy from Australia offered me $50-$55 shipped if I sold it to him right away, glad I didn't take that lol

Split a case saturday with my boy out in cali. Total case price $996.00. $83 per box. He opened half and didnt pull any golds. Best card was Faried ref auto/25. So i got half a case coming with hopefully 2-3 golds in it!

ive been getting them for 1050 from my dealer who is a friend. I bought one more yesterday, i heard him on phone with distributor and she said there was only 1 left. If that means anything to you guys as far as buying now or later. Advantages to buying now is its still pretty hot product. Down the road it will stay popular but the more that gets open the more is out there to choose from. So I would buy now.

or buy some of those retail boxes on ebay, thats a decent price 56 or something. Only 4 cards in a pack instead of 6 but I have seen some autos pulled out of retail, plus the greens are more in demand now, if your looking to sell what you dont want to collect.
