Hmmm interesting. Anderson is averaging about 5 points more then Gasol and it would open up the middle for Dwight.

The only thing the lakers really lose doing this trade is Gasol's passing ability. This isn't a bad trade, but I think neither team benefits.

LOL The "SYSTEM"?

What a load of crap, All star players should know how to play ball and don't complain all the time.

Olympic coaches get no medals, because they are surrounded by talent!
Why cant the lakers quit complaining and just play BALL like every other team?

Do you think Spolstra is that good of a coach? HELL NO

Agreed, but chemistry is a lot. U can't have 2 post up men and expect them to both post.

Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph seem to be doing fine, Pau Gasol and Howard are probably the best at their positions. Gasol is an excellent passer for a big man and Howard can run and catch everything at the rim.

Lakers didnt lose games by being blown out, its the TOs and FTs that kill them, that's on the players not the coach

Egos need to be checked at the door or else it will not work.

Gasol gets treated like trash for no reason. He should request a trade and go to a team where he is appreciated, get out of that circus drama.

Every year he is rumored up for trade. How can he concentrate on playing if he doesn't know his future with the team?

They should trade Gasol to Minny for Derrick Williams, he would be a beast playing in that system alongside Nash, would be his new Amare

The Lakers NEED Ryan Anderson. Pau Gasol is shooting 75% of his shots from outside the paint right now. Pau is not a guy you really want shooting that many jumpers. Now Ryan Anderson is a completely different story and you want him shooting those open jumpers. He's a dead eye shooter and he can largely help space the floor and that's EXACTLY what the Lakers are missing. Also, he's a plus defender and a good rebounder. Doesn't hurt that he played with Dwight all those years either. Nash, Kobe and Ryan Anderson teamed up with Dwight would give teams nightmares. Lakers would be hitting wide open jumpers left and right. Pau just doesn't fit in with this offense. @Haralabob, biggest NBA sports bettor on the planet, on Twitter has stated multiple times Lakers should make a run at Anderson.

while i certainly wouldn't be mad with that trade i feel it's unneeded. lakers already have a ryan anderson type player in antwan jamison. dude is ballin his ass off right now too. i'd like anderson cause it makes them younger and you could build with a frontcourt of anderson and howard for years. right now i'd like to just see jamison starting and gasol playing back up center. gasol is definitely out of position right now, plus the guy is just haggared. his knees are balky and he constantly looks tired. i think lakers need shut pau down for a few weeks let him get some rest and then bring him back as off the bench playing about 28-30 a game. lakers won their two titles with pau in the middle, he is much better as a center than a power forward. always has been.

The word "beast" and Derrick Williams, should never be used in the same sentence.

The only two Derrick Williams I know of were busts. The former WR for Detroit and the forward from Arizona.

Bill Simmons, the Sports Guy on ESPN/Grantland tweeted that the "Gasol to Minny for D. Williams and others" wouldn't work with the salaries, so there would have to be a 3rd or 4th team for that to happen. I do see Derrick getting traded this year, and as a T-wolves fan I think it sucks to give up on him after one shortened season. He must be in Adelman's doghouse basement!
Ryan Anderson is damn good, I saw him in Orlando regularly, but the Gasol salary is so huge. It'll have to be a multi-team deal, wherever Gasol goes. Trying the ESPN Trade Machine (however accurate it may be)....it is nearly impossible to get the salaries to match up enough for Gasol to go anywhere! Give it a shot, it is kind of fun.

probably a good trade for both teams, pau can still be close to elite in the right system, but its over for him in LA

It doesn't matter who the Lakers bring in. Hack-a-Dwight is in full swing.

I'm a fan of Pau and all the great things he did for us but since the 2011 first round series against NO he started to play soft again. From then it has been up and down and this season he looks older than ever.
Maybe it's time to let him go.

I don't see what MN would do with Pau with Love and Pekovic getting so man minutes at PF and Center. We need a real SG.
