Default Hard to sell on here lately?

I have a mix of prices and trade options if one were to take a look at all my threads where I sell. Maybe for baseball someone will want a prospect I bought in season and now I'd only sell at a break even price since its offseason. Maybe I'll have bought a OJ Mayo card preseason with the hopes he'd excel and my price to give it up is higher than a prospective buyer thinks it should be.

But I'd say all and all my prices are pretty normal especially compared to certain posters on here and especially when I make some auctions where I purposely check completed listings on ebay and make sure my price is a few bucks under that.

Just wanted to see if anyone else thinks selling is slow lately... I know most of the people here would rather trade than buy, but I just put up 2 sick Magic Johnson cards that I guess I'll be moving to ebay bc I barely got any responses... just seems weird lately. Thoughts?

My guess would be Christmas. Maybe guys are buying gifts instead of boosting the PC.

I usually hold a sale thread to clear out inventory thats been stacking up of failed sets that I gave up on and wax busts. I tend to price my stuff much cheaper than ebay to make them boogy. My sense is that many people are looking for discounts and value for a resale there after.

I find things in the BST a bit over priced since you are saving fees from ebay and time as well. Cards boogy!! They just have to be priced right in my opinion.

people are spending money on x-mas gifts and/or vacation expenses.. unless the gift is a hobby card, selling cards in Dec tends to be slow.

Everyone wants the steal of the century on the Forums I visit. Too many options and players and if you collect 3 sports it becomes difficult, so people reall try and get the best deal they can.

It does seem to be much less organized and professional here than SCF.

SCF is probably worse than here.

The combination of the above and the fact that there are very low barriers to entry for "resellers" causes the pool of both reasonable amount of buyers & sellers to be significantly reduced. It's gotten so bad lately that there's very little incentive to deal here. Unfortunately, it will probably continue for a while.

SCF for me hasn't been great lately. Coming into this year I had like 400+ trades maybe one problem. Since I got back into collecting in Feburary I had maybe 70+ trades and about 7-8 problems and 4 scammers. On here I have only had one so far. Lots of great people on SCF but just as many scammers there. If you do have a trade go bad don't expect a moderator to help you out. That's just the way it is now I guess no matter where you go.

December is always a tough time to sell. Sites like this also have other issues.

1. Holiday season and many people are focusing on presents.

Many sellers here want to get way above eBay when they don't have to pay any eBay fees. I don't blame them in wanting more money for there cards. Everyone does! They seemed to get really mad when you counter with a reasonable price.

When ever I am buying I inform people that I am a reseller. I get frustrated when someone posts they need to move things and I offer less than eBay prices even thought I state it before hand. Just difficult when different people look for different things.

I have had two or three issues and every time other moderators could help me out. Maybe I have been lucky

Have had no problems on either site, but I have a limited number of people I deal with. When people seem unreasonable I just put them on my ignore list. I am new here, but have been active on SCF and use to be active on FCB until they updated their system and I could not log in. Had the same handle there.

I like Blowout because of the must list price policy. Saves time with the stupid offers etc.

Now make it mandatory to post Reasonable Trade Value

List price is helpful to a point, but many people just make up absurd prices or have ten cards and say $3000 for $400 worth of cards lol

Yeah, but then you know they are time wasters

Just like the guys who say "I got 10k ready to buy"

Just ignore them
