Default OJ Mayo

He's been playing lights out....like the 3rd overall should now that he has a starting role and found a home in Dallas....will he start to see more hobby love?? I have a few of his cards, and a 1/1, but stopped collecting him when he saw little playing time in Memphis.

I got a few cards of his just because of his college. I hope he continues to go up!

As a die-hard Mavs fan, I like Mayo ... but I don't think he can carry the offense for the Mavs through the entire season and through Playoffs, etc.

It will be interesting to see how Mayo will COMPLIMENT Dirk. They will be a deadly combo, but I hope OJ can shoot 40-50%+ ... I get worried about his efficiency. Someone like JET used to be very efficient with Dirk. Hopefully Mayo will remain aggressive and be a cutter as opposed to simply being a spot-up shooter with Dirk back.

The main interest will come from Mavs collectors like me. I would be going nuts on his stuff right now, except there's no guarantee he's here next year. If he signs a long term contract with the Mavs I'm all in. I bet there are a lot of other Mavs collectors in the same boat.

This makes perfect sense! In all honesty, I see the Mavs offering him a long term contract...he seems to be a perfect fit for this team, and I'm glad to see it!

Mayo is a pretty solid player, I think you should hold on you mayos and wait a bit 'til the playoffs.

He is playing well. Only problem I see with, expecting the "hobby love" is the fact that it seems like only a handful of guys really sell well. Kobe, Lebron, and KD.

There are alot of really good players all over the league, that are ALL-Star calibur players..yet they don't sell real well.

I've been saying this Mayo got next to Kobe. When Kobe Retires.
Mayo will be the best sg in the league. And he doesn't need to grow a huge heard for it.

this is true. for years, joe johnson in ATL and deron in Utah and amare in Phoenix were examples of all-stars who didnt generate much hobby interest when compared to other consistent stars

edit: as for mayo, he def deserves an all-star nod IMO

Its because those times fans are voting for players who are not even plaging .
Hopefully they get to fix that. So the deserving ones will be able to be pick as an all star.
Oj Mayo should get a vote via coaches pick.

^ I agree with the above. I think Josh Smith is underrated, been voting my butt of for him in all star game this year!

I think Mavs able to acquiring Mayo for this 1 year was one of the best acquisitions in all of bball! Hopefully he's here to stay ^_^ If Mayo gets back on track he becomes a beast

Yep, Rose is my PC guy and his cards are still a little high, but much lower than they were....I've been picking up a few inserts, rookie chromes, etc. while they are still affordable..I see them spiking again big time when he comes back! Unfortunately I had to sell off a couple of my high end to pay bills, and will use some to purchase some cheaper ones I don't have.

I wasnt meaning any disrespect for your D Rose collection. He was the #1 guy in one of the best draft classes in years. So, his stuff will still bring a premium. I was merely commenting on the fact that it is weird to me, that there are some REALLY good guys on teams all over the league, that for some reason dont sell really well in our hobby. Alot of them have been mentioned, but Rudy Gay is another one that comes to mind. So, I just feel like Mayo could be the same way.

When I set up a table at shows, I can have the nicest stuff of alot of different players, including Rose...and when it comes to basketball over the last 2-3 years...all I hear from people at these shows is........"What do you have in Kobe, Lebron, or Durant?"
