Lol i was actually thinking of that too. The buyer got a steal and he still stole. That card probably selling for $350+ before the season started.

To those of you saying that USPS will do something, all I can say is that you are dreaming.

Fall back on the Delivery Confirmation. That's about all you can do.

My friend had a similar problem. Sold a big lot of comics for $250 and the seller claimed they were all damaged and asked for a 50% refund.

My friend took it because if he asked for the item back, he didn't want to risk the guy damaging them himself.

Here's the buyer's thread from another site: Received package with no card

I've dealt with him before online and at shows on a number of occasions and know for sure that there's no way he would try and screw you here. Sounds like you're both victims and someone at the good ol' USPS intervened...

Apparently that is a second account. (matty_ice_2)

Buyer started a thread here:
http://www.freedomcardboard.com/foru...ml#post1870119

Here's the thread in which he said he sold his Cabrera Logoman for $800+.
Sold my Cabrera logoman 1/1

Here's the ebay link to that auction with a seller ID of dnplayer03.

This is a tough one for sure, but with any item over $100 in value I would insure it. Hopefully it pops up somewhere, and I am sure it will.

I think you're safe. He said he signed for the package. There is proof of delivery.

def. sounds fishy.

but i thought i heard before that even if a seller sent a package with dc and uploaded the the number to paypal that as long as it says delivered thats all that matters. I could have sworn i've heard buyers being screwed by this when a seller sends an empty package with dc that is 'delivered'

is that not correct?

seems like a major flaw in the process

How would you explain the multiple ebay accounts? No need for that unless you are up to something fishy

This is going to be a he said - she said situation. Given the feedback of the buyer, you should be fine.

Sorry bro, there isnt much you can do. And i agree $140 on that card is an absolute steal. If i was you i would watch for this card to pop back up on the market and possibly catch this kid being a moron and trying to resell the card. Good Luck

Thanks for making us aware of this loser. I appreciate you passing along his info and I've already blocked both of his ebay id's to avoid ever dealing with him.

I'm really sorry this happened to you man. I hope the Gordon shows up somewhere and I hope you win the claim with ebay and Paypal. Good luck!

How many things have you bought and sold on ebay? It seems like you're a pretty active collector and I'm guessing you've saved more than $140 by selling the lower priced stuff without insurance. If you can afford to lose out on an occasional transaction, I would bet you'll come out ahead in the long run by NOT buying insurance. Btw, I'm sorry to hear about the situation - I still sympathize with you.

Definitely something fishy going on. This guy has 2 eBay accounts and looks like he bids on his own stuff from the 7 feedback account to his main account. I hope this works out for you and this d doesn't get any kind of refund. By the way he is a banned member from here

Yeah you're probably right on that. Makes me kinda scared to sell a high end card even with insurance if buyers are doing this stuff. I would dare say the post office wouldnt be jumping to pay me back on a 6k card even if I had full insurance.. I bet there would be something that would not get me a refund. I just don't trust the system...

I use threaded tape for all my packages. Its impossible to cut into the package unless you use a scissors or knife.

You could literally run the package through a dishwasher and it will still be in one piece.

This is why selling to the public is so difficult, its tough to weed out the crooks
