I sold a Eric Gordon Exquisite RPA for $140.00 and he is saying the card wasn't in the package when he received it? Not sure what I can do about this? I know I put the card in the mailer. Either someone at the post office stole the card or he trying to scam me? $140 doesn't seem worth scamming someone so Im not really sure what I can do about it? Probally just going to have to take the hit.. Is there a way to not get scammed like this in the future? Maybe take a video of the card getting put in the package and send out?

There is nothing you can do. It's just part of the deal when selling unfortunately. Video doesn't really work unless you litereally videotaped the entire thing with the package in full view all the way to handing it to the PO employee or putting it in the mailbox.
If you insured it you have to take it up with the PO - if not you're going to take the hit.

Is he saying that package came empty? or that that card in paticular wasnt in it?
You have reciept from post office with weight? what was it? a card inside a top loader has some weight so if you compare it to an empty envelope you can prove something was in the package.

I hate to say it, but unless you insured it, you pretty much have to take the hit. |

I did DC and it was US to US but I didn't insure cause it was a cheaper card. So I'm pretty mush going to have to take the hit. which sucks but Im glad it wasn't on a super high end card. Thats a good scam for some buyers to do.. They will alway be covered no matter what and if they steal the card and say it didn't come they get double. WOW

Sig delivery on everything over 50 bucks. That's what I do. They sign for it they don't have a leg to stand on. Everyone makes mistakes.. But to say there was nothing in the package? That's ridiculous.

This is BS for us sellers.
Does the buyer see if the package was insured? Meaning: He sees it is not insured, then proceeds to lie that he got an empty package. Buyer will demand a refund and win everytime?

As everyone else has sort of stated, you are SOL. Weight doesn't matter, because I could have loaded 3 ounces of packing peanuts to get it around the weight of a card w/ protection.
About the only thing you can do to protect yourself is to INSURE it. If the buyer claims that they are missing an item, they will get the money. INSURANCE will at least allow the seller to recover money on THEIR end.

This is the email he sent me
Dear chrismiller81, I received the package today and there was no card. Are you kidding me?? Not sure if this was intentional or not but I hope you planning sending me the card or there will be problems. - matty_ice_2

Paypal will side often side with the buyer, even if they signed for it, if they say the item was not received as "described" which is how they can file it with Paypal since it was received but not "described" if the package was "empty" as they claim. If Paypal fights them then they send back an empty toploader back to the seller. The only want to really protect yourself is to insure it so you can at least take it up with the USPS.
