To truly appreciate the heavy-metal majesty that is the 2012 Draft Class Redemptions from 2011-12 Gold Standard Basketball, it helps to hold them in your hands. And in the next few days, patient collectors who’ve been waiting for the chance to do just that will finally be rewarded.
Just this week, the finished cards — weighty, wonderfully designed and hopefully worth the wait — arrived at Panini America HQ and will be on their way to collectors early next week. Here’s hoping the following 12-image preview gallery provides a worthy appetite-whetter until the cards begin arriving.

And stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on the other Draft Class Redemption programs from 2011-12 Past & Present Basketball, 2011-12 Limited Basketball and 2011-12 Gold Standard Basketball.
Now, for the preview . . .
(Viewers beware: No matter how proud I am of my new iPhone 5 camera, its images simply can’t do these cards justice. They look even better in person.)

at least it says rookie

Yaga 12-28-2012 01:11 PM

Hmmm... not sure what I think!? Definitely not what I was expecting.

boombaby_rm31 12-28-2012 01:28 PM

classy....

crazymj 12-28-2012 01:29 PM

If only they numbered those, it would be worth a lot more.

jprk31 12-28-2012 02:44 PM

I'm excited to get the Jarred Sullinger RC card.

MavsRChamps 12-28-2012 03:24 PM

Looks good/unique, although the pictures of the cards are so dark it's hard to get a feel for them

greetl01 12-28-2012 03:30 PM

man I would be pissed. How do the regular gold standard cards look so pretty and then they make you wait 1/2 a year for this BS?

blastman 12-28-2012 03:40 PM

they are made of metal?

nah, they look plain to me.

gamboooler 12-28-2012 04:08 PM

Stop. Using. The. Same. Pictures.

drew306 12-28-2012 04:39 PM

That was really fast. Wow. 6 Months after the draft and they already have these made? Incredible.

rauchand 12-28-2012 04:41 PM

Wow these look awesome. Can't wait for my Drummond

Tarheelsfan2012 12-28-2012 04:46 PM

I personally like these and cant wait for my Barnes to arrive and will be picking up the redemptions for picks 13,14 and 17. I dont know what yall expect all the time but visually these are much better than the rookie autos in absolute and contenders. Oh yea and its made of metal.

Lee42 12-28-2012 04:58 PM

These are pretty unique, I like them (would be great if they were signed though)

MikeMamba 12-28-2012 04:59 PM

they look like oversized pins

probably made from the same material as these things

Yaga 12-28-2012 05:03 PM

Hahahah they DO look like oversized pins!!! Wow... that's pretty funny.

benz35 12-28-2012 05:07 PM

Too bad no lillard autos and yeah same pix used for prizm

Sauceman 12-28-2012 05:22 PM

Kind of sharp, but def. have a magnet/pin feel to them. Meh.

Stats 12-28-2012 05:39 PM

I think they look pretty nice! I wonder what sale prices will look like on these when they are live

oldgoldy97 12-28-2012 06:06 PM

I'll be more impressed once it's in my hands. Oh well, another few months I suppose.

thepinoymamba 12-28-2012 06:27 PM

This would definitely look more classier in our hands. Made if metal. Wow. Panini keeps on delivering awesome product after product. Basketball is getting better and better . Salute to panini.

kukawbubuh19 12-28-2012 09:29 PM

Let me get this straight coz im a bit confuse about this redemption of rookies. So wether you get it from GS Or Limited the card is going to look like this. Or its going to be different from each other?

Why is it that you constantly praise everything Panini puts out? It's as if you are programmed to only say the nicest things about everything they make. Do you ever have constructive criticism or is it always praise because you are just naive and don't know any better?

I think those cards do look good but numbering on the front and having a 1/1 version would make them better.
