The Lakers system, pass the ball to Kobe and let him shoot. Some horrible shots tonight, and I mean HORRIBLE.

Lakers cannot defend a good PG, they get eaten alive.

But it is the same when they pass to Gasol or Dwight! Once one of them get the ball, there is no need to defend the other players! A kickout is very unlikely and at 1 for 17 or whatever, why would you worry?

Gasol and Howard were horrible all game (3-19). Kobe is getting the ball and basically killing the plays. He doesn't pass it. Howard's only basket was on a Kobe miss.

It freezes the offense. Poor Nash, looking old out there too.

Not sure who or what can help the Lakers.

They hired D'Antoni over Phil Jackson, which was a HUGE mistake

So nothing to do with the Players and the low defensive effort?

Holiday put the icing on the cake with a dunk, both Gasol and Howard were in the paint.

In fairness Nash was very passive down the stretch and didn't look to shoot at all.

Almost as if he was giving it to Kobe to bail them out and Kobe missed a few shots.

Kobe gets some of the blame no doubt, but Nash's job is to create, he needs to do that

Im comparing them to the heat when they put there super team together. While Im not a Lakers fan but a Blazers fan so its in my blood to hate them, Im pretty sure they'll be fine soon. For christ sake, were not even a third of the way through the season yet.

They just need to mesh and find that team chemistry. Im sure they will around the half-way mark or little later. Remember how long it took Dwayne Wayde, Bosch and Lebron to come around, quite losing to petty teams and go on that win streak while looking like the team they were suppposed to be?

By the end of the season you'll have forgotten all about these struggles early on. "I gurantee it!"

James Worthy, after tonight's game, "I don't know what D'Antoni does to allow Kobe to take ridiculous shots down the stretch."

Kobe Bryant blames Lakers' age

Everything does come down to the coach in this situation. Their defense is horrible because they practice defense maybe 15 minutes a week and Kobe has to shoot so much because the rest of the team has been horrible this year. They have been horrible because of the coaching. I don't know if it is going to get better because this is how Dantoni's coaching style is, but its not going to work with the age of the team. They should have gone with Phil...

The Lakers should have gotten Rondo when they had the chance.
