Default How do you guys sell cheap cards?

Very random question I know.

First off, I'm not making this thread to try and get people to buy my cards, so I'm not spamming just looking for advice.

I'd trying to narrow my collection way down, and have a lot of cards that aren't worth much and I don't know how I should sell them.

Basically I collect Kobe but I have about 100 cards of his from the mid-late 90's that I don't know what to do with. I think it would be a waste to sell them one-by-one on ebay since that's a lot of work for a dollar or two a card, but I worry putting them as a big lot via auction it might go real cheap.

It's nothing high end obviously, but it'd probably be great for like $2 boxes at card shows and such.

So what do you think my best bet is selling? Individually? One big lot? Several small lots?

I let it ride on 7 day auction and i take the time to list every card even the ones that seem worthless in the item description.

If you don't care the profit (or how much you get back), sell the whole lot in ebay as auction base.

If you want some decent return, list everything in a checklist and sell in forum (especially in SCF). Then, sell the rest in ebay after that (as a whole lot again).

In ebay listing, you may want to group player together to sell faster. Or even try to group by team to sell.

Usually grab three random cheap one and sell them as a lot.

If they don't sell, I take them here and use them for a serial # game

This is what I do as well. I put every card in the scan and put every card in the description. I find that it helps sell them better because people know exactly what they are bidding on. Also, if you have a lot of inserts you could just do an insert lot and then a base lot as two separate auctions.

I think I like this idea.

Now is it best to start it at $.99? I know that even these base Kobe's can sell for at least $1. I'm just worried about selling a 40 card insert lot and having the bid end at $12 or something

I usually start every auction at $.99 and see good results with that. If you start the auction off high you may not get any bids and turn people away. I would think a 40 card Kobe insert lot would sell decent since he has a good selling value.

Yeah, I mean I'm not kidding myself or anything with this, I realize most of the cards sell for between $1-$3 dollars.

Hmm...Ill get this up tonight. With Howard and Gasol injured, Kobe could have some big scoring nights coming up. Might give it a tiny boost
