Default Teaser: Panini America Breaks Four Tins of 2012-13 Timeless Treasures Basketball

Teaser: Panini America Breaks Four Tins of 2012-13 Timeless Treasures BasketballJanuary 8, 2013 at 12:12 PM
Call it a delicious dose of four-tin foreshadowing. Late yesterday evening, the marketing allotment of 2012-13 Timeless Treasures Basketball arrived safely and soundly. First thing this morning, I cracked into four randomly selected tins as a means of showing you what to expect from Panini America’s newest NBA trading card product that releases to the hobby tomorrow.
Although the front of every collectible tin promises five cards, the four I opened for this preview each delivered seven — four base cards and a combination of three autograph or memorabilia cards. From the refreshingly redesigned autograph Rookie Cards to the twisted Revolution Memorabilia inserts, there’s clearly a lot to like in 2012-13 Timeless Treasures Basketball.

The following teaser gallery — which takes you tin-by-tin through four packs — should provide valuable insight into just some of the greatness to come. At the end, we also provide a closer look at the inserts and parallels from our bust.
Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on 2012-13 Timeless Treasures Basketball.

No offense but those four boxes look to yield a very poor return... Some of the cards look pretty nice. Looks like I will buy singles.

The Parker is a cool looking card. But ouch on return...and since I haven't seen anything advertising big hits in this, I wouldn't touch the stuff.

I would think $75-$100 is that they will charge.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna start at $100 a tin....just like every year. Pretty painful to look at...I must admit. Oh well...glad I only collect Curry and Holiday. Hopefully they have a couple cards in here....

The 'hits' don't look that good. I'm sure this will cost over twice as much as it should.

The tins are probably worth more than the cards. The return is truly awful. I just feel like there needs to be some kind of guarantee that you're going to get somewhere close to your money back. Even 50% would be nice.

Why does the tin clearly state 5 cards per pack yet each pack has 7?

What happened to charging a fair/realistic price?

It's hard to 'just love the cards' when you spent $100 on them for just a handful and nothing that good.

Either lower the price or add more cards, then maybe we can stomach it.

Great looking base cards and the tins are cool but other then that it looks absolutely brutal.. Whats up with those spinny jersey things? That may be one of the worst "innovations" of all time..

remember 09-10 ud ultimate, seems like my lcs was selling them for $100 a box and they were pretty brutal, obvisouly there were some nice chase cards but overall the product wasnt that good. i love the design of this product, and ofcourse, i would love it to be $50 a tin, but its been several years since nicer products were that cheap.

This stuff looks pretty gross.
Overproduced rookie autos with an innovative but poorly executed design, and 80% of the time your 3rd hit is going to be a Jim Bob jersey card/sticker'd card.

09-10 Timeless was by far the best.

I wonder if that guy would actually spend $100 on this. He seems like just shouting good things for Panini, but there is very little action being taken by him (i.e. actually buying the products).

And how do you propose this would work? If you want guaranteed returns on you money then put it in a term deposit at your bank.
