I will no longer recommend to my customers, just opened a case of Timeless Treasures, holy crap is it bad, even worse than Limited and Absolute if you can possibly imagine, no patches in the entire case, no patch autos, no jersey autos, no jerseys or autos #'d lower than 49, gordon hayward autos and plain jerseys, Tony Wroten?? Darius Miller?? Bob Dandridge? Ryan Anderson? will post complete break very soon

They have sucessfully killed so many products this year. Abs, limited, timeless, all these good old time names. I hope Classics wont be that bad. They do a double rookie class but instead of concentrating more on the top tier rookies (hey! they have 2 years of them!), they put /399 autos of guys that are in DLeague now. Sigh.

For those of us that keep opening til you get a case hit...Does not exist in panini Products anymore, They are stealing our money. Not one card of Kobe, Durant, Rose or Griffin, Not even a BASE! oh accept for those painful repetitive Kobe packs, VOMIT!

It's getting really, really, really bad, that's all I can say. It's so obvious Panini is half-assing these products. There's a reason Panini doesn't do any of teaser galleries and sneak peeks for these products anymore; cause they know and we all know it's garbage.

Timeless Treasures was a decent product in the past, with autographed logo tag, logomen...
The new TT is one of the worst products I have seen come out of Panini and I had a strong feeling there would be some very upset people as soon as a few boxes started getting busted. With that in mind, I think we all need to lower out expectations for National Treasures product that will come out later this year. |

I'm thinking most of this is Keith Howers fault. I could be wrong, but here is the new brand manager via LinkedIn:
Brand Manager Panini America October 2012 – Present (4 months) Plan and execute 22 brand releases per year while maintaining a set production budget. Monitor tasks from conception, through production, to final brand release. React and adjust to obstacles within the given budget, and ensure all deadlines and partner/legal obligations met. Continuously improve brands to deliver new content, while protecting the integrity and familiarity of each individual brand. ---- Well, it seems like he surely cut the budget quite a bit.... Also the new content has pretty much been garbage, and he threw integrity & familiarity out of the window... Not only stealing countless ideas (and logos) from UD and other brands, but completely changed the Contenders product by no longer having Rookie Ticket Autos. Really sad. Me thinks this guy has absolutely no idea what hes doing. Personally I will just wait for National Treausres to come out, and pray to god nothing has changed from previous years. |

Like I said before, this thread would not exist if the product is $40 per tin. Overpriced with this crap return is what kills my interest. I can easily buy a Penny Hardaway auto of this product for less than a tin price. Then, you can totally understand why I don't need this product even a former superstar auto does not make your money back.

I actually like the way the cards look, just not worth the price. I'll buy some singles.

I agree some of their products don't have that much value tied to them per box, but that has always been the risk ever since I've started collecting back in the early 90s as a kid. I remember buying a lot of boxes back in the day of Upper Deck, Topps, whatever and I don't think I ever ONCE got an equal value back out of the cards. If I would have just taken the money to a card show and spent the same money I did on the box I could have gotten 10x better cards. Now I only go to shows and pick up what I want and I spend way less then I would trying to break boxes. Yea, you never get that low numbered Kobe auto or what have you, but I'm ok with that, it's the trade off you make. If a box catches my eye I will pick one up, but few boxes do that, you have to be careful. After looking what they pulled on the panini blog in this stuff I knew there was no way I was breaking a tin. Only box I opened last year wsa certified, 3 autos, 3 mem, decent amount of other cards, $95 on blowout, pretty good deal to me and one of the only products I wanted to break so far.
I guess I don't like people feeling entitled to great hits. If there was a guaranteed monster hit in each case, and guaranteed value in it, then wtf would be the point, you are just paying for the known. Its the randomness and rarity that makes pulling a hit special to me. Those stupid cases of exquisite that have one lebron and one jordan auto per case are just dumb. If you are just paying for what you expect, then whats the point? I do agree though that out of all the boxes this year, these seem to hold the least value from what i've seen so far, which is kinda lame.

I don't wanna say I told ya so (not directed at OP) but I told people Prizm would be good, TC would be good (debatable) and now it is essentially time to wait til NT comes out unless you get bored and just wanna go bust some random wax. Not a single case should be purchased though!!!

The rest of the RC autos, you just hope someone will be the next Jeremy Lin. Players like Jonas Jerebko, Gordon Hayward, Brandon Bass, Ryan Anderson, and Kenny Smith should be in $50 box, not in $100 box. |

Panini doesn't care. We have no choice. We'll have to wait until their license is up.
With no competition they'll continue to make this garbage. Especially with group breaking (although I enjoy GB's), I'm sure their sales haven't slowed down a bit.
