Now here's the interesting part:
Sacramento Kings, technically, won its lone NBA title back in 1951 (as Rochester Royals). If it is confirmed that the team will be moved to Seattle, will this honor be brought to Seattle to "merge" with the Sonics one (1979 NBA Champion)?
Any guess on how the arrangement will be regarding this situation?

Absolutely. The first player I ever collected was Mitch Richmond. I was into the Kings - still have a folder of those kind of players (and Chris Webber) - all base/lower-end stuff but nice cards.
Tyus Edney was a fave, Brian Grant, Corliss, Walt Williams, Vlade!

So when is this thing going down?

That 2001 Sac Kings team will now truly be up there as a dream legendary team

Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson and Chris Webber. Yeah baby!!!

I want the Supersonics back, coolest UNI's in the NBA baby. This doesn't make up for losing Durant and Westbrook though.

I wonder if the new Seattle organization would consider retiring Gary Payton's Sonics jersey if he gets in the HOF..

How will the change in fan base affect the value of the kings players? Do you think since seattle fans been starved watching their old thunder rise to fame, they'll go crazy hyping the players up?

One thing is for clear here. The Magoofs, for the first time, are considering to actually sell the team which has been the one thing they have refused all along. The bottom line, is $500MM seems like a crazy offer. But net to the Magoofs is less than $210MM. Far less than what they are looking for and now not so crazy, but more of an insult. Mayor Johnson is now trying to put together his own group to potentially purchase the team, keep in mind $80MM of the $500 would have gone directly to the city. Taking that into account, it would take far less of a nut to come up with.

So, after 18 months, we have had the Sacramento Kings, Anaheim Kings, Sacramento Kings, Virginia Beach Kings, Sacramento Kings and now Seattle Kings. Until they are gone, I will continue to have faith even though I do not support the current ownership group in any way.

It would be sad to take the only pro team from this city, which has had two of the most impressive sellout streaks in the history of the NBA. The first of which was with teams that absolutely sucked. Sacramento gets more fans to their AAA baseball games than some MLB teams on many nights.

This I agree with. Seattle already has the Mariners and Seahawks. I get that people are mad at Clay or whatever, but the Kings are a great franchise (dem C-Webb/Peja/Bibby teams!) and Sacto's only pro team.

Grew up a little north of Sacramento, this is the only thing we had for a while until the AAA baseball team came. Extremely sad for the area they were one of loudest crowds in the NBA and very passionate when they could field a competive team. Makes that series 2002 series against the Lakers even more of a travesty. The fans&city of Sacramento deserved a championship.... At least they have a WNBA championship..

Hopefully this reply won't take you the wrong way, but if you count the whole Kings' history, the team won a NBA championship and they brought the honor with them when they moved to Sacramento, albeit the title glory's a bit more than 60 years ago....

But I agree, the team deserves another title, at least during the early 2000's.

Haha yeah I get ya I more or less referring to they're time spent IN Sacramento but yeah the early 2000 teams were fun to watch I wonder where the franchise would be if they weren't cheated out of that series, I really don't think they'd be moving 10 years later.

I'm pretty sure that the first home game both Gary and Kemps jerseys will be hung in the rafters and retired.

There is a story that chris webber is putting a group together to make the kings stay in sacramento. When we were winning games, Sacramento was a great city. We had the loudest arena and tough environment for opposing team to play in. Economy downturn has got the best of the kings. If Maloofs sell the team to Webber's group or Mayor Johnsons, I will be a happy camper. I don't want to lose this team because we will never get one again.
