Default damian lillard as investment?

What are your guys thoughts on Lillard for Investment? He's a really good player in a smaller market ... Good position just not sure how much hobby love will he have with a leaf exclusive deal? I know he's already hot and his prices are climbing daily. Give me your thoughts on him. Thanks everyone

back on track, buy 1-2 of his leaf cards and some singles from Prizm, dont open wax to find him and dont buy more than what i have stated, if anything happens, knock on wood, your unlicensed stuff might not hold value.

Ditto for me... Buying and selling things help you bring in more dinero to add to the PC.

I think that if he stays out of trouble and remains injury free he could possibly be a HOF calliber player. That being said he still may not be a sound investment. No knock on Lilliard but if you can buy HOF rookies and autos under $5 I'm not sure how you can consider any trading card an investment. Yeah if you have a few extra dollars to blow you may want to buy some Lillards for a rainy day and put them away but don't put all your eggs in one basket our you could very likely be dissapointed.

Unfortunately, I do not see him being a attractive star for the league. He's awesome, but very under control, not too flashy. The good thing is, that exclusive keeps his autos so limited and his Panini rare cards will sell well! I don't think this late in the game he is the guy to invest in.

I also think Lillard is a great player, but I see him eventually like Deron Williams and even further down the line, like the great Isaiah Thomas in terms of hobby love. Deron holds decent value, but if you look at Lillards values right now, that implies a downward trajectory. Don't think this will happen in the next week or the next month, but in a few years, unless Lillard is playing in a big market and/or is MVP/champion, his values will come down.

I agree. I am keeping a few prizm base rookies just in case but I have passed on dropping the $ it takes to invest in green prizm or even gold.. As high as they are now I feel like they are more likely to go down than up. Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like him being hot right now is a novelty and at some point he will fizzle out. Not saying he isn't going to be a solid player but I am not sold that this guy will reach a D-Will, CP3, Rose level, etc. I guess time will tell but I'm passing on high dollar investments.

Once the playoffs start, LIllards value will go up. I see him reaching great heights, those that equal Nash, Rose, cp3

Yes, but you also flip cards too, it's rare to find a collector who doesn't flip these days.

Remember when Jeremy Lin's stock was through the roof? I remember, I almost snagged a rookie auto off of Ebay for 8 bucks. It was at that price until the last 12 hours, then it ended at 262.51 or something like that. I was just going to buy it and flip it, but still. Look at his prices now. There's a BGS 10 going for $35 with 2 days left... The market changes rapidly.

Even he is 20/10 guy next season, he is still not the #1 option in the team. I only see a big jump from him if he got traded to another team while being #1 option (like James Harden). His number will be pretty limited in Portland.

Jrue Holiday and Brandon Jennings are better, wayyyyyyy cheaper and around the same age as Lillard!!!

Lillard=Bad investment, unless you think the Blazers will be champs in 2-3 seasons?...
