Yeah that is true.

I mean football has more color with the blacks and reds, but that also brings down the value of the regular refractors.

1/1 does not really affect it as a 1/1 lillard will be over 5k it would probably help golds .

Now if they did /10 /25 /50 that would hurt golds

I think it's smart of Panini to put more color in football.

Basketball has superstars that can carry a product. Football in general tends to sell for cheaper so bad basketball prizm boxes would still get you $20 probably, but those same football boxes might only bring you $10.

So by adding color it adds value and makes up for the lower selling sport

1/1's are so rare that they aren't collectible so that I don't think they'd really detract from the collectibility of the golds, kinda like /5 greens and 1/1 blacks from TC.

Adding the 1/1s to Prizm would've been great for the product, one can only wonder why they did it to their football release and not for us basketball collectors

Basketball had them, they were just hard to come by as Topps lost their license before they started making 4 brands with superfractors

I agree they will incorporate them into next years. Seems like this year was more of a T&E series. Looks like they used basketball out of the gate and made adjustments to football which we will see in next years basketball

Delibrately or not, I think Panini did a great job to keep highest level parallel to be /10 in its inaugural release. Having 1/1 will dwarf /10 gold for sure, BUT no one can realistically compare prices of 1/1 or go after them in a large number under a theme, leading to that prices of 1/1 will suffer and price of gold /10 will suffer. Exactly the reason why 90s masterpieces sell less than PMG green /10. When a product doesn't sell too high, there will be less hype etc.

There is also this reason: Why apple didn't give out retina display ipad mini in its release when it's so easy to do, because there will be room of improvement, and can earn money from early adopters and more restrained buyers who look to have all the features. But even having less features, the inaugural release will always have more sentimental and historical values.

By the way, the refracting pattern looks like cheap postcards bought from museum gift shop, and hope they can do more fancy version to basketball next year.
