Andersen had minor arthroscopic knee surgery in August, and said he “didn’t even know if I would play this season.” But he’s healthy now and in one of several references to himself in the third person, said the knee procedure “isn’t going to keep the Birdman from flying in there and banging and getting rebounds.”
Birdman cracks me up. I wish the Bulls would have grabbed him up as a backup.

You guys have Taj Gibson who is a monster in his own right. Now look at how Asik is doing.

Wow, thought no team would bring him with how he got dumped by Nuggets and his legal issues.

Did charges ever go though.

i'm pretty sure he was never really a 'suspect' in the legal issues. i could be wrong though but i thought they made it seem like he was a child molester when really he had no real connection?

Yeah, I remember when it broke it was all over. Then never really heard what came about with charges.

Thought he was blackballed from NBA. Or a team would have brought him into training camp this year. Still can be a decent role player.

i never really cared for him, but the heat need rebounding. if he can still rebound and hustle like he used to, then this is a good (cheap im assuming) pick up.

I wouldn't have minded if the Wolves would have signed him on a 10 day contract. With all the injuries, it couldn't have hurt. I won't complain about how Chris Johnson and Gelabale did last night though. Hopefully they can keep that up so they can make the roster for the season and hopefully the Wolves dump Amundson

Low risk move that could help somewhat.

I remember him most when during the dunk contest "It's time for the birdman to fly" and then proceeded to do the following:

I remember him when i was going to college at Fayettville State University here in NC and he was playing for the NBDL Fayetteville Patriots when they had a team. People went just to see him dunk on people. He was a starter along with Omar Cook and Jason Capel of UNC. Those were the days. Even got to play full court games against them at the YMCA in town.

He was a fan favorite when he played here in Oklahoma City. I also had the good "mis"fortune of walking in on him, snorting a line of coke off the back of a toilet. That dude liked to party! Im not sure how effective he will be after a few years away from the game.

Is Miami really that much in need for an inside presence? Not only Birdman...but Im pretty sure Greg Oden was also mentioned recently as a possibility for Miami. Really?

Something like that.

I believe he claims he was set up by someone. I never heard what happened. Did he even get charged?
Denver sure dropped him like a hot potato though when it came out. Wasn't it even just when playoffs were starting?
