I'm waiting on a Kawhi Leonard and he has obviously signed for other products so I am wondering the same thing.

I think they don't want the 11/12 XRC autos, because it may discount their "historic double rookie class" and lead to people saying... "Well, if this Kyrie Limited auto is from 2011/12, then what is this Kyrie Limited auto from 2012/13?"

So if they wait and pump these out later... they can finish their double rookie class plan.

Just my thought.

God knows they have enough stickers.
Slap them on and ship them out.
Doesn't sound that hard.

These will all be on card autos though... no stickers according to Panini.

I just don't understand how they couldn't get these redemption done in the summer/off-season. They would rather wait until the start of the season to do the lottery. I'm sorry. This is just a bad plan. By the time some of these auto is out, most players are out of NBA.

I believe they have already been printed and sent out to the players to sign. So blame the player now because the ball is in their court.

Don't blame the players... blame Panini for waiting until December 2012 to actually send these out.

Who knows if they were even sent out yet? Either way... it's Panini's fault for waiting so long. If Threads could have on card autos, and that came out months ago... there's no excuse for not having these sent out.

Unless it was intentionally delayed by Panini (to keep hype on their double rookie class), which is my thought.

When the draft for the XRCs were being held live, Panini couldn't give a straight answer when these would be put out. He just went back into stating the print run and that it's already printed out. He never mentioned it being signed already and ready to ship out. It is frustrating that they had more than a couple of months to get these signed and shipped out. They even messed up the 12-13 non-auto ones by putting an authentication of an autograph. That's a big mess up in my opinion. We pay a good amount of money to purchase their products, the least they could do is provide good quality control on their products.

I think your reason makes most sense. I highly doubt Panini would just ask for players to sign Threads auto, but not these redemption auto. It doesn't make sense to sign 2 patches of cards on different dates.

Basically, Panini was trying to sell boxes with empty promises (people still went for the hook). And now, Panini would milk this double RC year so that current products would sell better.

Amen to this. I'm a writer for a living and sometimes help our sports department. I covered the Clips-Spurs playoff games in LA last year and had to go into both locker rooms with a bunch of other reporters. All those guys want to do is shower, get some food in their stomachs and get to the bus/hotel. Signing autographs and doing interviews are probably the two least favorite parts of their jobs.

Yes but they are also getting payed millions of dollars to play in this league while playing a fun sport and doing something they enjoy

They also get payed by panini to sign cards so they should do it in a timely as fashion as possible

maybe during all star break some players will have time and get to it
thats what i was thinkin
