Kyrie is just incredibly fun to watch; he's something special. Cavs seem like they're on the right track, and the new combination of Ellington and Speights played very well tonight.

i wasn't being uptight. if i said 'lebron james is the bestest at basketball' people would wonder why i chose to say bestest. its the same thing. i've just seen people say clutchest and wondered why people thought it was a word. no use in getting upset, i really didn't mean to make you feel bad about your grammar.

and btw, it is of my opinion and (it always has been and always will be) that people referring to themselves and their favorite team as 'we' and others referring to you and your favorite team as 'you' is stupid. you're not on the team. that's that.

sorry if all of that bothers you, just as your choice of words bothers me lol.

i've said repeatedly on this forum that i think kyrie will be a top 3 player in the next 5 years, so you can chill if you'd like.

I don't watch the Cavs but does Kyrie play defense? What type of player would he be compared to? As far as best PG in the East, I think Derrick Rose might have something to say about that in March.

the only reason the title of this thread isnt kyrie is the best pg in the league is his defense. kyrie needs work on it just like a lot of other 20 year olds, he needs to work more at it and focus more while playing defense, when he does that kyrie is the best pg in the league as well as a top 5 player

I remember his clutch stats being strong, but can you show me a reference supporting this statement?

I'm trying to figure out how a guy who averages 18.5 can score more points in the fourth quarter for a whole season than any of the 20+ players ahead of him. Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems like a serious stretch.

Meaning his defense

But rose is a defensive minded team also

my bad, this is what i meant to say

Because some of you asked for it, I'll give you an idea of how dominant he has been in the fourth quarter and "clutch time". According to 82games.com, "clutch time" is when the game is within 5 points in either direction, with less than 5 minutes left in the fourth quarter or overtime. Based on that definition, Kyrie Irving actually LED the NBA in points per 48 minutes of clutch time. He scored 56.4 points per 48 minutes of clutch time. That is 6 points more than the second place guy, Kevin Durant. Too add to that, his field goal percentage rocketed up to 54.4% when the game is on the line. Perhaps the most impressive part of this is that his buckets scored at the end of games are hardly ever assisted on. Just 19% of his buckets in the vital portions of games come from a teammate's assist. That means he is taking on the entire defense and creating his own shot. And he does it with startling efficiency.

So not only is he one of the best rookies of all time, he's also already one of the best closers in the game. He doesn't fear the moment. He steps up his game. He's 20 years old.

No worries, I thought that might be what you meant. His clutch stats all season were outstanding.

I'm a Raptors fan, and I had a bad feeling he would burn them at the end. Beaten on a great shot by a great player, there's not much you can do.

Kyrie is fun to watch. He has all the makings of a superstar, and is definitely a game changer. But i would not say he is the best clutch player in the league, based on his 4th quarter out puts, and a few game winners. His team is mediocre at best, and although a game winning shot is a game winning shot he will have to show me he can do it on the same basis in the playoffs. A game that has a lot more on the line than just another meaningless regular season game for the Cavs.

I wouldnt rank his clutchness until he does those in the playoffs. Wade-durant are still ahead of Kyrie. His shot tonight wasnt that special, eager beaver defender, didnt get up in his face.
