Default Seattle Fans? Really?

Absolute comical poll in the Seattle Times.

NBA ranked 10th for most fans in Seattle.

Which sports have the most fans in Seattle? | FYI Guy | Seattle Times

Already sad we might lose the Kings but really? Yet another laugher for the NBA if the Kings do move.

Figure Skating....Gymnastics...NASCAR.....College Basketball.......

AND.....MLS...WTF is this?

I mean...they don't have a team yet. They probably hate the nba for taking their team. Bet the poll will be different once they get the kings...

The Seattle Sounders (MLS) are actually really popular in the Northwest.

Yeah, if you want a poll that actually means something, find a similar poll from 2007

That's no excuse at all. They had great teams in Seattle and rarely sold out, many seasons in the bottom half of attendance.

If you polled Sac 6 years after the Kings leave(if they leave), NBA would far and away be top three. And that's with two football and baseball teams within a 90 minute drive.

Do you know the Times has been opposed to the new arena since it was announced the Hansen group planned on building one (long before the Kings news). Do you know who is on the board at the Times? Their relationship with the port?

Basically according to the times if the arena is built Seattle with sink into the sea and we will become slaves to the Salmon Mermaid King.

I looked at attendance from 2001 to 2007 and they were basically floating around the 20th spot in attendance. Not too great.

BUT they had great teams????

Their record from 2000-2008 was 304-352

And on top of that, I believe they sold out most games when they were good in the 90's, but KeyArena didn't hold as many people as other stadiums, so even at sell outs they didn't rank high in attendance

from talking to the local fans of the Sonics, they were pretty angry about the whole situation with them leaving and obviously they aren't gonna be big on the NBA without a local team anymore. but there's also a lot of excitement lately from the announcement of getting the Kings, so i'd expect the NBA to be back near the top soon.

Compared to the Kings with two of the all time sellout streaks in the NBA, 1st of which was with annual garbage teams. The fan commitment cannot be compared.

I hate driving to and in Seattle but if they do get the kings I would love to go see them vs. the Thunder.
