As we all know, Jordan's picks have never turned out well.

He can really spot talent

I think opinions are more important to be honest.

Stats can be misleading.

This is the best MJ vs LeBron analysis I've come across;

Bases and Baskets: LeBron vs. Jordan: debating the NBA’s greatest of all time

My favorite part;

"Again, let’s give LeBron his full career but the dismissal of LeBron from the playing field of Jordan as GOAT is unwarranted and founded in 1) a desire to protect history or 2) simply a hatred of LeBron James."

I wouldn't even know who I would pick, both are amazing. If LeBron can play the way he is now for 5-6 years it will be tough not to pick LeBron though. But you can't go wrong with the black mamba.

Lebron is playing great basketball right now. We will see if he can continue after all star break. As far as kobe he is past his prime on a old team. I would pick MJ prime over both of them any day. But since that's not the argument I would have to say Kobe Prime because I do not think lebron is in his prime yet he is just getting started. I wish we could throw Durant in the mix as well only 24 plays unselfish great passer shooter could possibly one day be a top 5 player all time. I think 40 year old jordan could shut down lebron right now . I know 40 year old jordan could shut down kobe this year. MJ will forever be the GOAT

When ANYONE wins 6 straight Championships.
Then they can be considered for G.O.A.T
Until then, Kobe is the closest to MJ and Lebron has to get at least 3 more rings to even be considered GREAT.

I feel Lebron could out do Kobe over time if he continues the way he's playing, but to best MJ, He's not even close!

The poll is from 2011 by the way.

Also the Jordan quote is nice too!

So you guys post your fan sites, stats and whatnot, but NBA players and the Greatest of all time surely carry more weight then a stat, no?
Stats provide actual evidence and are true whether you believe them or not. I would say that actual statistics and evidence carry much more weight than opinions.

All I gotta say is... you guys in America are so damn lucky to be able to see both Kobe and Lebron live. Make the most of it! Two amazing future HOF players.

Great point about lbj having those extra years over MJ at 28. I would have to argue about accolades. MJ had ROY, All Star MVPs, defensive player ir the year, MVP, multiple scoring titles and a ring at 28. What more is there to get?

LBJ and Kobe will be a very interesting debate when both are retired but bottom line is they are at very different stages of their repsective careers. Prime Kobe was a beast, people tend to forget and compare LBJ to current Kobe. If anything, that is a serious testament to how good Kobe has been over time.

That said, MJ has one star neither will ever have. One that will always keep him a step above no matter what the final ring count is

6 nba finals appearances. 6 rings. 6 finals MVP awards.

Never a loss in a championship round and MVP every time... Damn.

Jordan probably remembers Lebrons meltdown in the finals.

Lebron laid a huge egg against Dallas. Almost so that people started to call it fixed...

Michael hit the game winning shot to win a National title.

And won a gold medal with college players..

Didn't Jordan join the NBA a couple of years older than LeBron did? LeBron was 18 and Jordan was 22? It took Jordan 6 years to win his first title and it took LeBron 10 years.

Lol that's the funnier thing I've heard in this thread.

I have a question. When was Kobe's prime?

2011 NBA Finals: Lebron James Full Press Conference, Dallas Mavericks Win Title - YouTube

First quote from Lebron. Sometimes you got it, Sometimes you don't.

Jordan and Kobe have NEVER SAID THAT.

Who cares? Always hate how people think Player A is better than Player B because some guy told him so. When it comes down to opinions, MJ is just like any of us.
