Magic should take that money and put it into his Foundation where it will do some good.......

They just made a GREAT point!

Lebron James is doing a damn good job of building his reputation back up! I can't wait until some of you who dislike or hate him come back around... He is pure greatness.

If it were for major charity, I bet elite NBA players could rationalize doing a REAL dunk contest. Too bad sponsors are better than charity in the NBA's mind. I bet Sprite would actually get behind it is if was 7-8 figures for charity.

only way he is going to do it is if durant westbrook blake and the other star dunkers do it, no way hes going to go against jeremy evans and those other scrubs

Lebron has some hops for a bigger guy, although unless he has a ton more dunks that we have not seen I could care less if I see him in it. I don't want to see the same dunks that I saw in warm ups, I am ready for some new dunks not the same crap that we see year after year.

what a shame that it takes that to get him to just do what fans want him to do and for once its not an unreasonable request from fans.

unreasonable is subjective.

i think a lot of fans would like to see others besides lebron in the dunk contest. they should be called out as well

they should be called out, the fact that the fans/league/magic has to beg a star to do that contest is sad.

This is the type of thing were it's obvious to both Magic and Lebron that it's not really a million dollar offer to Lebron, but to the charity of his choosing.

And like you said, if Magic comes out and says it's for a charity of his choosing, there is no way that Lebron can turn it down.

And as much as Magic would obviously love to see Lebron in the contest, he knows he can't force Lebron's hand by saying that. He needed to still give Lebron an out if he REALLY doesn't want to do it, and he couldn't do that by saying it was for charity from the start
