He is balling right now...frankly...if I am taking him to build a franchise... He is top 5. Defintely depends on other players for fit. Thoughts?
Kyrie Paul Westbrook rose (injury) Nash (old) Deron Williams Rondo (injury) Parker (old) |

Top 5 PG's in NBA right now:
1. Chris Paul 2. Russell Westbrook 3. Kyrie Irving 4. Tony Parker 5. Ty Lawson I would take Lawson over Williams and Rondo along with Rose are both hurt. Ty Lawson might be the most underrated player in the NBA and I think he can and will get better.

Steph Curry is awesome, but I see his as more of a SG than a PG.

I put him as my 7 right now but I can see the case for him to be a top 5 guy

2a. westbrook 2b. kyrie 2c. parker i dont know where to put lawson. i consider him a better PG than Curry, but if im starting a franchise i choose Steph without question. huge lawson fan, and glad things worked out like this for him. perfect player for the perfect team and offense. i also love rubio, but woah - they drafted flynn, rubio, and lawson and only got Rubio? rubio is good and probably should be better than lawson once he fully recovers, but what a wasted opportunity. they could have EASILY put rubio and curry next to love. at that point who even cares what you do with the pick they got LAWSON at?

PG is a deep position in the NBA now in my opinion. despite the injuries on a few of them, you could argue for Rose, Paul, Westbrook, Rondo, Williams, Irving, Curry, Lawson, Vasquez, Parker, Holiday, Nash, Kidd, Lin, Rubio, etc, etc.... Too many to name, and that's not including Lillard, Jennings, and others. Lawson is solid, but there are too many names to say he's top 5 now.

Where did this post come from? I know Lawson hit the game winner but he had an awful game.
Mind you I like Lawson but I dont think hes a top 5 guy, and to say hes top 5 but eliminating 2 guys because they are injured isnt really fair or true Rose/Rondo/Paul/Westbrook/Parker then the next tier Lawson/Holliday/Williams/Rubio/Irving etc

Lawson after Lillard is hilarious. Rondo is a hero-baller, rather have Lawson every day of the week, as it is a team sport. Lawson more efficient running a team than Westbrook, Holiday, Williams. Rose & Curry always injuries risks so who knows longterm with them. Lawson easily top 5.

Ty Lawson would be my #5 pg in the NBA. I would have to say Raymond felton is doing great too! The North Carolina Alumni are doing great in the NBA! Credit that to Roy Williams!

![]() Anyways I dont know how Rondo can be a hero baller when he leads the league in assists (Still does by the way) and gets yelled at for not shooting. My only comment on Rondo since I dont want to derail this thread The Westbrook comment just doesnt make sense to me, how can you compare Lawson running a team more efficiently than the other point guards? Going by stats Westbrook, Rose when healthy, Williams and Curry are MUCH better than Lawson who is good, dont get me wrong but what makes him better than Rajon Rondo, Westbrook, a former MVP in Rose etc. And the Bowie/Oden comment doesnt make sense, those guys are retired/out of the league, not counting guys who will be back next month/next fall when doing rankings is foolish. Its apples and bowling balls with your comparison. Bowie and Oden = Retired or out of the league Rondo/Rose = back soon

I love lawson and always have but he is not top 5 comon guys...
currently this season top 5 in my opinion is (rondo would have been in but by default im taking out) 1. cp3 2. parker 3. kyrie 4. Westbrook 5. Jrue 6. dwill 7. Curry 8. Liliard 9. Lawson can anyone argue lawson should be ahead of 4 guys on that list cause i dont think any1 can make an arguement for that.... maybe 2 but not 4... as for next 5 years 1. cp3 2. kyrie 3. rose 4. westbrook 5. rondo no way rondos in there close with jrue lawson liliard curry no way top 5 in any circumstance

I like Lawson being an UNC fan, I'm not quite sure he's top 5. Whoever compared Rose/Rondo injuries to Oden or anyone else who could have been great but wont have the chance to prove it due to the severity of theirs, doesn't make sense. Buy all accounts Rose and Rondo should.come back better than ever, Rubio had same injury and seems to be a great pg.
My opinion, that's all it is, our opinions lol My top 5 1. CP3 been top pg for a while, almost unstoppable 2. Rose most athletic/explosive plus MVP 3. Parker champion, always seems to be an MVP candidate 4. Westbrook closest they're is to Rose, as far as athleticism, plus big gm performer 5. Rondo champion also shows up big n playoffs triple doulbes ect. Only reason I didn't put Kyrie in there is because of the injuries and just doesn't have the big game exp. Rubio is very close too |
