What? Says who?

Howard and Nash played the pick and roll to keep the Lakers in the game last night. After a 1-8 first half from Kobe

We may never know if Dahntay did it on purpose or not. But, he is a dirty player because of his history.

What is more shocking is how Ibaka did not get suspended.

Coaches get fined 25,000 dollars for criticizing the refs. You hit a guy the nuts and its 25,000 dollar fine. The league needs to protect players: especially Blake Griffin.
so two incidents make jones a 'dirty player'?

kobe has a history of failing his arms on jumpshots that are blocked and hitting people in the face. He's even been suspended for it.

This video has 3 examples of that (note: i don't think all plays in this video are 'dirty')
Kobe Bryant - Dirtiest Player in the NBA - YouTube

Now is Kobe a 'dirty player'? He seems to have a history of dirty plays...

Are you nuts? Kobe scored 20 points in the 3rd quarter: They were down 12 and he brought them to within 2 points.

Dwight had foul trouble. Steve Nash shot poorly last night too. By percentages, he shot worst than Kobe.

I dont mean to downplay Nash or Dwight. But this Lakers team is willed by Kobe.

As for the pick and roll, Kobe and Dwight do run a mean one too.

Yes two incidents make him a dirty player. With your video, yes I can see how Kobe is a dirty player.

Who has Kobe injured and put out for the season?

You are a closet kobe lover. Its pretty apparent.

okay thanks for being consistent.

personally i don't think two plays make a player a 'dirty player'. i wouldn't consider kobe a 'dirty player' but then again everyone has different opinions for what a 'dirty player' is.

With Bryant off to a slow start, the Lakers came out in the third quarter and, prior to Bryant's explosion, used the pick-and-roll to perfection against the zone. It allowed Steve Nash and Howard to work the pick-and-roll to perfection, leading to layups and a pair of identical dunks on consecutive possessions.

Dig the hole, then try to play hero at the end.

Kobe will be back because he doesnt sit around. His life is basketball and will play through his injury so as long as he can get up the court.

He did it before. He led his team with a broken finger. Of course he will be back. The guy plays through anything.

Yeah, he certainly posts much more often in Laker/Kobe threads than in Heat/Lebron threads.

I think that's basically the definition of a troll and is quite sad

Kobe is given a pass for being a dirty player because he is Kobe. Dahntay Jones on the other hand gets all the crap. Sucks for him.

Also, for those saying it wasn't even a foul, the NBA disagrees

You are right, I just think the Lakers are nothing without Kobe. Much of the recent excitement and success of this Lakers team is attributed to Kobe (Also Dwight's better play since the All Star break). That is all I have to say.

"It's not a clean play. It's a dirty play," Golden State Warriors Coach Mark Jackson said in a radio interview, according to ESPN 710.

Longtime Lakers foil Bruce Bowen actually sided with Bryant to a degree, a somewhat surprising development from the former player who was similarly accused of sticking his feet under airborne players and was called "Edward Scissorhands" by former Lakers coach Phil Jackson for his rough hands-on play.

"[Jones] took away his space and in the game, you're supposed to give the offensive player a place to land," Bowen, the former San Antonio forward, told ESPN radio. "You saw Kobe fade away and you saw Dahntay Jones kind of continue to move in his direction. It should have been a foul call there."

That was the only protection Bowen offered Bryant.

"I'm not saying that's dirty on Dahntay's behalf. A dirty play is taking the guy out of the air where he really has no place to come down as far as clotheslining and things like that," Bowen said.
Bowen said that undercutting players isn't dirty. Mark Jackson thinks differently.
