Default Select Green Refractors

So there has been mixed feelings about whether the greens are part of the select set, and whether they are "promotional" items. Me personally, I believe they are part of the set that were inserted into the Black boxes. What are your thoughts on these? Regardless, I think they are amazing cards that will be highly sought after and I plan to pick up many key players.

I really like them. Select overall will be a big product for me in terms of players to pick up because a lot of the rookies I collect will have their first jersey/patch autos in it!

I bought a Harkless Hot Rookies Prizm Green #15/15 for $78.00 and a Harris #10/15 for $16.00! I like the Magic's future and these cards are beautiful!!!
I think will go wayyyyy up! Just like Prizm Gold's, but not as crazy.

I could careless if it is part of the set. It really is a matter of opinion. You like the product , you buy it. Plain and simple. I just got my first one in the mail and these cards are just stunning inperson.

Based on the fact that they don't say "promo"or "Summit" on them.

The ONLY cards that are apart of a base set come out of retail/hobby packs. Anything handed out promotionally should not be considered part of the set.

It could very well be part of the set. If I recall, 98-99 topps chrome have some preview cards that were inserted into stadium , that later were to be the first 20 cards of the set. I believe MJ was part of those preview card insert.

My opinion is that they are promo cards, but I think Panini will eventually add them to their checklist.
I have an unopened summit black box that I'll be busting this afternoon, will post results in the break forum when I break it.

Panini shows the following parallels in the hobby release:

Prizm
Prizm Gold numbered to 25
Prizm Black numbered to 1

I know someone mentioned that Panini confirmed the golds will be numbered to 25 ... I don't think that's the case?

It was weird of Panini to release the Select greens in this fashion ... it would have made the Select hobby set all that much stronger if they had included them in that release.

Panini has confirmed the golds are now numbered to 10 not 25. Originally they were to 25 but this along with the all on-card rookie autos was changed just prior to release. The golds are out of 10

Those were inserted into the topps packs. Jordan was in that preview set.

That is correct. Stadium Club had the bowman's best previews. Btw, Beautiful MJ.

This I agree with. When 99.99999% of the community can only access 2nd hand it cannot be considered part of a set.

Rather than debate if they are part of the set, just enjoy the fact that they are nice looking cards that will sell well.

1. These cards were only available to select people in a promo/summit box.
2. No green parallel is listed on Panini's checklist.

Until either of the above changes then I'm not really sure it's up for debate at this point.
