People get away from it from time to time. It all depends who the referee is. I just say this is reasonable to have Lakers to get away from foul and Spurs getting away from those T-foul. Same fair game to me.

Spurs shot 37..6%
Lakers shot 41.1%

Not sure that the Lakers can do much more in terms of playing D. The Spurs will shoot better, you can count on that. Spurs will win this series.

The Spurs are an elite well oiled machine. Don't blame the Lakers for losing, blame the Spurs for winning.

Manu hit shots that just blew air out the Lakers balloon. The role players stepped up also.

Hit more threes, give up less threes. Spurs bigs are no threat gotta make spurs play inside more.

I feel like Spurs are just hustling the Lakers. Lose the game to Lakers but now they're showing their true strength. Without kobe, lakers got no chance and they really need to bring in someone new since i can't see dwight carrying Lakers deep into the playoffs, and Lakers are not going to have a high pick for a while.

Yeah, I was just wondering if there was merit to that thought process or if it was just another knock to get people upset ha.

Lol... Duncan would destroy Gasol with 40 points with no help defense. Duncan can put Howard in foul trouble within 5 minutes, and the game is over.

And besides, Spurs big can shoot 3 as well.

Some consider Tim Duncan the greatest power forward to ever play the game. Tiago is not the greatest but him and Duncan together seem to working just fine. Also, stat lines indicate that Timmy had another good outing. Just sayin...

It's all relative. Gasol could score 40 on Duncan too with no defensive help.... Duncan "can" do a lot of things but his frontline is awful. Making their bigs beat them would give the Lakers the best chance to win.

By no threat, I mean Duncan can not put a team on his back and win the game by himself. Few players in the league that can do so. I'll let Tim get 25 if he is the primary option and the offense is running through him and focusing inside. Splitter is awful, sorry. Take the ball outta Parker's hand or an awful game by him and the spurs will fall.

Durant/Kobe/Lebron are about the only players that can win games on their back atm.

Also the stat line indicates Gasol and Dwight had great games.. If you were watching one might argue Gasol had an off game offensively tonight..

See, you are talking that you give Duncan all the chance to score (no double team, just one on one defense). That's why I said Duncan would drop you 40. He can be a scoring machine.

On the other hand, if you give Gasol all the chances to score (no double team, just one on one defense), Gasol would NOT drop 40 because he is not that type of player. He looks for pass WAY more than looking to score. He doesn't fight for low post anymore. He just walking around the top of the key too much and give the space for Howard.

Lastly, Spurs does exactly what you said - to give Howard and Gasol to score instead of Lakers shooting 3.

That's why box score don't tell you much about the game itself. 16/16/6 are monster numbers, but it does not impact the game result.

If only Kobe would have recommended putting the ball in the post earlier in the season maybe he wouldn't have gotten so burned out and gotten injured.

Imagine what the lakers could have been playing inside out with Dwight and gasol and then having one of the greatest swing men ever and great shooter on the perimeter.

Do you mean when Pau was injured or when Dwight was still recovering from injury?

Either way, you are so awesome!:$#%#$ OMG

Either. And also when Kobe was playing 46+ minutes for like 10 straight games.

Including some of the games where his ankle was injured and if he sat he would have a hard time loosening it back up, which basically forced him to play every minute?

That's a pretty poor excuse really. Didn't really work out either, maybe he should have sat out or put a stationary bike on the sideline.

Lakers would have been a completely different team if they could have tried to use their presence down low.

The best time to rest player is from 2:00 mark at 1st quarter and 2:00 mark at 3rd quarter. During that time, either team would be in foul trouble already. There are more free throws. In addition, the playing time doesn't run after the basket. So, the actual resting time (15~20 minutes) for the player is much more than 4 minutes of playing time. The player can still get 44 playing minutes.

Sweep. Really enjoy getting to beat the Lakers AND Nash in one game. A Spurs fan's dream.

Kobe Bryant says he will no longer live tweet during Lakers games in order to avoid becoming a distraction.
His tweets were shown constantly during Sunday's Game 1 and it's safe to say we all lose out because of all the attention it got. Mike D'Antoni's dramatic eye roll was telling after the game, as he was clearly annoyed by being asked about Kobe's tweets. The Lakers struggled on both ends of the floor in Game 1, and will need to (listen to Kobe) and pound it into the post with Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol if they're going to take Game 2.

So, the Lakers are checking Kobe's advise instead of listening to the coach game plan (if there is one existed)?
