If they have kobe, the game is not ended not until 0:00. Kobe can get 10-0 easily and get the game back. This laker team? No player can do such a run.

Lakers hit more 3's, Duncan still had a solid game.

Spurs fans must be enjoying kicking the Lakers while they are down...

Chance of a lifetime...

In my opinion Dwight can be a very good player on a team, but he can't be THE guy. He can't create his own shot and relies almost entirely offensively on other guys getting him the ball right at the rim

Anyone know why T-mac isn't playing. I know he wouldn't contribute a ton of minutes but I figured he would at least play the end of quarters depending on the score.

Yeah, but without a healthy Nash and no Kobe. He gets doubled and tripled in the post.

Dwight already hinted he's signing with the Lakers, so its most likely we have to deal with his mediocre post game.

Pretty sure he's a back up in case Manu or possibly TP not being able to play.

But they both look fine...

He had no one in Magic, and still was the man. This team was not built correctly. And besides, how many time he got away from 3 second call. He was like parking in the paint.

With the Magic, he had shooters. So getting doubled or tripled was actually feeding into their strength.

With the Lakers, he really has no shooters.

Or Laker is stupid enough to fight for #7 spot instead of #8 spot. Maybe they would win a game against Thunders.

Yeah, lets blame the Lakers for fighting to win.
Screw tanking.

Everyone had their injuries, especially the Spurs. Mike Brown should have never been let go, especially if Mike D was his replacement.

Of course every team does.

But I have to say, after the Wolves, the Lakers probably had the most.

Not an excuse, but it obviously has hurt them more than any Playoff team...

What tanking? Just 1 game (last regular season game), and you have the option to pick the seek.

And besides, you are the one that keeps bringing the "luck" for spurs and how "unlucky" for Lakers. Why not talk about Gasol sitting at 6:00 left? Why not talk about the game itself? Yeah, I don't want to hear "luck" as such a big part of winning.

I didn't bring up the "Luck" thing, that was just a response to someone calling the Lakers lucky for making the playoffs.

Gasol sat because he had a bad game, his defense was terrible.

Spurs have too much firepower, even with Kobe. It wouldn't matter.

Really impressed by Duncan, 37 Years old? Unbelievable

The problem with the lakers not having Kobe is that they might have the worst guards for a playoff team in a while.

If they just had decent guards even without Kobe they'd have more of a chance.

Steve Nash should retire. Can not guard a fence at this point.

My wife said that he must spend too much time in the tranny clubs. He forgets which job he is suited up for.

not a big fan of mitch kupchak already announcing D'Antoni will be back. looking at the history of his offensive playbook, his offense does not fit the lakers. we saw what happened this season. his stubborness was evident early on, et cetera... i know there were injuries, however from day one, this offense was doomed to fail. yes, i keep hearing, give him pre-season camp, understand the offense better, however kupchak and buss need to reconsider this guy. its one thing to ruin a season, its another thing to question this franchise.

so blake officially out, nash and meeks more than likely out tonight. so our starting 5 could look like this

morris or duhon - pg
goudelock - sg
mwp - sf
gasol -pf
howard -c

guess it's all over but the crying at this point. i will still root hard tonight, and believe in miracles, but this is going to be ugly to watch.

has any team been more snakebitten by injuries to major stars in a nba season than the lakers this year? i tried looking for the story to link it here, but couldn't remember where i saw it. but it had some ridiculous stat that if you broke it all down nash, kobe, mwp, gasol, and howard were only on the court together at the same time for something like 20-30 games around there. every major contributor on of the roster has missed significant time on the court this season, just ludicrous to think about.

i don't ever want to go through a season like this ever again, and it just goes to show that mitch and jim need to concentrate on building depth and youth in the offseason instead of relying on the big free agent splash every year, times are a changing in the nba.

Well said Burt... Let's see what they do tonight. Come out strong, the guards are quick enough to keep up (however no replacements for Kobe and Nash) and show they belong. Howard and gasol need to play big and with reckless abandon? Here we go boys
