Dwight Howard doesn't look like a franchise player unfortunately. I wouldn't be angry if the Lakers decided to let him walk. His athleticism will fade away in a few years and he will not be able to do anything. He isn't Shaq, Shaq had a dominate offensive game and allowed him to keep playing for years after he lost his explosiveness. Gasol is a better big man than Dwight hands down.

Can't believe Steve Nash is this awful and we have to endure 2 more years of it. Dantoni is an awful coach and should be fired as well. Heck i'd let Kobe coach the team before Dantoni.

Life without Kobe is awful thats all I will say.

Howard was pretty effective in Orlando, he is a Franchise player. Not sure why you think Kobe is the only offensive option the Lakers have.

Lakers are just beat up as hell, if the Lakers were healthy, Without Kobe they would be fine. Kobe is going to hold the Lakers Hostage next season $80 Million. Lets see how much of a team player he is then.

So Kobe should what? Retire, for the benefit of the team?

You think a roster of Nash/Gasol/Howard/MWP and whoever they slid into the 2 guard could compete for a championship? You need a player that can take over a game to win a championship. See Durant/Lebron/Wade/Westbrook. Which is why the Spurs have recently gotten bounced in the playoffs. No takeover type player.

LOL so sad. Kobe will hold the Lakers "hostage". What a joke. Kobe will likely push himself so hard and risk injury to play for the city of LA next year. A lot of players wouldn't do that. Its unreal how much you dislike Kobe.

And to the guy that said kobe is 1-8 in his last two series... Fair enough. He also has 5 rings including a 3 peat and a back to back reign which was almost another 3 peat(losing to boston in 2008). But thats OK, Kobe is a bum!

Of course he should! He is going to hold our franchise HOSTAGE.

Dwight has been holding our franchise hostage all year. Easily could have already re-signed. We can offer the most money, can offer the most years but yet he wants to "test free agency".

Let Dwight walk. 2014 will be a good year for free agents.

Yep 5 rings. Lucky Shaq was there to piggy back him to the 1st three. Lucky Garnett was injured in 09. lucky Perkins got injured in game 6 in 2010.

Very very lucky player.

Anyways that was then, this is now. Looks like the lakers are going to go 1-12 in their last 3 playoff series.

Now thats funny.

Well, one more game to go. Lets see if Lakers has any fight in them.

Most players won't sacrifice their paycheck for a team. But when it becomes a job who would? There are a few players who did, though besides a few players on the Spurs I don't know who else.

Kobe is the luckiest player in playoff history!

You are a fool. Educate yourself.

(FYI written last year before playoffs)

Lakers fan pay too much attention to stars, and this is exactly what happen. No bench, no one can step up the game. Look at Spurs, they can win game with just bench. Look at heats, they can win game with just Bosh. Look at Bulls, they can win game without Rose.

For Lakers, they just have a model of building a team with superstar playing 40+ minutes. They just don't train or give enough play time for other role players. Perhaps, they just want to sell tickets, not much of winning.

Bynum didnt play all season. He didnt get hurt just before the playoffs started like Garnett, and he didnt get injured in the 1st quarter of game 6 when your team is up 3-2 like Perkins.

Hell if it wasnt for d-fish and his BIG shots the cletics may still of won.

16 NBA titles and 23 division titles. Lakers are not much into winning.

I am interested to know when the last time one of those teams mentioned above won an NBA title except the heat....

yeah Money buys lots of things. take away the lakers deep pockets and they are just another team. thats why the bulls dynasty and the celtics dynasty are appreciated so much more.

Exactly, they have no bench. When a guy plays 10 mins the entire season and all of a sudden is thrown in as a starter in the playoffs, what do you expect?

Even when the Lakers had big leads or big losses they never went to the bench, everyone wanted to stuff stats.

Everyone in the NBA can play ball, its not like you walk off the street and apply for a job.

Who's fault is that? Dantoni is known to use a short rotation. He has his entire career. Go back and look at his Knicks and Suns days. This isn't new for him. Which is why many Lakers fan's would like Dantoni gone.

That's why I like to see team playing bench player in 2nd quarter to keep the lead. At least, it is good for developing those players on what decision they should make within 24 seconds. For Lakers bench, they just don't know how to run any play or time management.

I think the skill set is there, but just that, if you don't play in those situation, you just don't know how to deal with it.

Coach. He doesn't want to get fired by killing player minutes.

I don't know. Who has the "big boy" shorts on??? Who's the so-called leader of the team??
Who's to blame for their last 2 season failures???

It seems he's jealous of Kobe winning rings and tries to belittle his role in that.

So I was asking who he roots for.

Very easy to rip on a player and not disclose who you root for.

The fact that we were having a back-and-forth discussion that ended when I asked who he roots for tells me all I need to know
