Default Is Cracking Graded Cards To Re-Sell Ok ???

Always curious to what people within the hobby think of this?

Buy a graded card - Example (8.5 - near mint)
Crack the card out of the case
Sell card without mentioning the previous graded condition

I think it's a bit deceiving almost like you are hiding something from a customer. What are your thoughts here??

it's actually ok, since you might not get the same grade if you submit the same card twice...~

I don't have a problem with. Now 8 or lower. You should mention it.

I don't think it's shady at all. Not really "hiding" anything. The card is now for sale raw and the buyers are buying a raw card.

I would let the seller know know the condition of the card when it was graded.

I've seen guys break some jordan 7.5 autos and resell them as mint and thats just wrong imo

I don't think it's a really serious issue but I do think there is something that makes it a bit immoral.

Do what you want, its your card by law. I have never done this before, b/c all the cards I buy get 9's or better.

Oh I've been in this argument before... Personally, I think it is MORALLY wrong to do so (without stating that it previously was).
The vast majority had no problem with it, or abusing me for my stance...

I agree with you.I have busted a few BGS 9 cards that I won on EBAY for my PC (where they are staying) simply because I would rather display them in 1 touches with my others.A few BGS cards mixed in with all of my others is just odd to me.But to buy something and crack it,immediatly throw it on EBAY without mentioning it seems a bit deceiving.

State condition accurately like you should in any situation and its perfectly fine. I buy graded all the time and i always crack unless it is 9.5. I just bought this for example and got a steal of a price because it was a 7.5. It honestly looks like at least an 8.5 out of the case.

I agree with everyone for the most part.Like I said I don't think it's a serious issue but I feel like the buyers are being mislead in a way.I think it's much more concerning than shipping methods or 2-3 days it takes to ship in item which seems to get many members around here in a uproar...

A better example -

I buy a graded card tonight
Recieve the card on Friday
I then crack it and attempt to sell it to the forum members Friday night without stating the previous graded condition.

Hard to believe this wouldn't light a fire under my *donkey* here on the forums.

You would be selling a raw card at that point then. Everybody reading the thread will see a raw card for sale. Makes no difference in my mind about it's "past".

I disagree with that,People fake patches and trim cards as well ... so buyers should not have to worry about a cards past or back story and have no right to knowing it?

so you would have no problem with someone busting a altered card out and selling it 'raw'?

I would say altered/trimmed is different, But getting an 8.5 or something, cracking it and re-selling raw is not a big deal in my opinion..As one poster mentioned, a re-submit might get that card a 9.....

why is it different?

A re-submitted altered card might come back un-altered. Its the same underlying idea.

Or it could come back as an 8.

I think altered or trimmed is WAY different. I think that can be very consistent to see with measurements and less subjective (more exact math). By definition the card has been altered from it's original state on purpose...A BGS/PSA 8.5 is still subjective and Yes could come back a 9 OR an 8, so don't see an issue with it....Now if it got a 5 because of a crease or something and you break it and try to sell with out disclosing, I consider that different as well

Agreed,I just witnessed a member who resides here and is quite judgemental of others (will not disclose names) buy a card last week on EBAY now it is busted and is now back on Ebay for sale without any mention of the cards previous grade. This member has a bad history of this method and was banned from another forum.I guess he learned nothing and a few extra bucks is worth being dishonest

Dude you are such a tool! haha

You made this thread to call me out and it backfired because there IS nothing wrong with it.

You really need to get a life bro, you just troll me now after you RIPPED ME OFF.

Then you whined your baby ass to the mods to have my WARNING about YOU in my signature.

For real, just get a life ... stop grasping straws. There's no argument here ... The poll shows 38 to 12 ... and you have to keep quoting everyone who "agrees" with you and say "YES I AGREE!"

You are literally the biggest tool I've seen on these message boards.

I think an interesting poll would be how many peoe have done this and not disclosed the previous grade.

Yikes.
