Just a little story for those who haven't heard it already:

My son and I went to one of their practices about three years ago, and we had the chance to speak with Tim for about 20 minutes. We mainly spoke about our families, favorite video games and hobbies. I told him that I had been collecting sports cards/memorabilia since 1987, I even shared with him some of the prized pieces I had in my collection. He asked me if I had any signed jerseys of him and I told him that we didn't. He told us grab a ball and shoot around for a bit and that he would return in a minute. When he came back he had a white jersey signed in silver sharpie personalized to my son. Him and Manu took some pics with us before they had to leave. Tim told us that he likes to spend as much time with his family as he can, especially leading up to the annual "Rodeo Road Trip." He loves comics, sci-fi stuff and video games.

He may not get an hobby love but here in SA he's the man !

I was telling my g/f tonight that Duncan is one of the stand up guys in the nba, doesn't get as much credit as he should because he isn't a strong dunker or cross-over wizard...but has the best kiss off the glass shot and knows the fundamentals of the game...

Nice story. Nothing wrong with someone being humble and standing with both feet on the ground. With all the flash and pompousness around the NBA today it's refreshing to have someone still producing the goods and looking to add another ring to his tally by doing exactly what the team needs.

Big men with superior fundamentals who do not have big flash usually do not get appreciated. However, im not sure if there is one answer to this question.

Mostly for two reasons for most big men. Aside from having a flashy image like Shaq or Barkley, and/or playing in a market like NY/LA, most big men aren't going to get the coverage or recognition as a guard would.

I've always appreciated his humility, looks like D-Rob rubbed off on him as well.
