Post Kobe Bryant Amnesty???? Boo!!!

The Lakers Organization are even considering to do an amnesty to Kobe Bryant!
Unbelievable!
Time warner cable are paying the Lakers $400 million a year for the next ten years.
Just that they coukd afford the Luxury tax.
Its a disgrace and a PR collapse if they do this !
Lakers should Speak now and deny the speculation.
Gasol is $19 plus million next year, Steve Nash too.
I will rather Amnesty both of their salary for next season.
And start an statement stating Kobe Bryant Will be A Lakers forever!

Its not going to happen. The Lakers made their bed, they will sleep in it and avoid the MONSTROUS public relations nightmare if they did

Apparently I don't follow basketball too much except for the Pacers, but what is this amnesty?? Anyone want to fill me in?

THanks.

Isn't it about an 80 million dollar saving if they amnesty him? If so, the Laker's owners/management wouldn't really be doing their jobs if they don't at least discuss it. 80 million dollars is a massive sum of money, even for the Lakers.

I'm not saying they should/will amnesty him, but they will certainly at least be discussing it in house.

They only need to talk to Kobe to accept it. Once Kobe makes the statement in public, it lowers the impact of damage the team.

Why would he do that? Why would he want to?

Only way it would work is if they amnesty him and have a under the table agreement for him to sit out next year, then resign in 2014-15.

But knowing Kobe he wont do that.

$80million is nothing compared to the devastation impact amongst Lakers Loyalist and Kobe Bryant loyalist. A Nightmare like someone said.
Plus just the Time Warner Contract is $400 million
Hopefully Lakers Wakes Up and Hire Phil, then DeAntoni as one of the assistants.
Then Trade Gasol For Kevin Love. Sign Dwight Howard.
Amnesty Steve Nash.
Next season Kobe Comes back with a vengance !!!

Yeah, I can't see Kobe wanting to do that. No competitive star would consider putting the team first like that at the sacrifice of their career.

Knowing Kobe he's going to work his butt off to return next season, he's not going to want to miss a full season when in his mind, he might even be ready for the season opener.

Taking less money to help the team is one thing, but essentially, it's the Lakers asking him to sit the entire season whether he's healthy or not.

You say it likes it's easy for the lakers to do all of the things you listed.

If all it took to get Love was Pau Gasol, he'd already be a Laker. And teams can only amnesty players that were under contract when the CBA was signed, so they can't amnesty Nash.

It wouldn't matter...

Kobe's contract won't be on the books when Lebron is a FA...

Edit: Didnt see above post

But don't see Lakers going anywhere with the team they have now so they should amnesty Kobe and start rebuilding, but it wont happen

Too much of a risk to amnesty Kobe, it would be crazy if they did...

What they need to do is trade Gasol for some bench players.

The plan would be to amnesty Kobe then sign him when he's healthy again. He will finish his career in LA. There's no doubt about it.

But that would mean he'd have to miss ALL of next season.

I think he's too competitive to concede an entire year
