Interesting. Not sure how I feel on this. Obviously I wanted him over, but I just hope he doesn't have a Mirza type year.

With everything Billy has done, I have complete faith in him. I think this was the right choice.

Nets get Shaun Livingston for a 1 year vet minimum deal. Good way to finish the offseason, barring a Reggie Evans trade or additional move in the Celtics deal in the next 6 days.

As far as Livingston, I still want TT to be the backup, but if he struggles, Livingston can definitely get the job done. If he and Terry are on the court together, it would be great as they could switch matchups on defense.

So I guess Bogdanovic isn't coming over after all...

Hopefully plan B is Corey Brewer or Ak47, but I have a feeling it is a trade with Reggie, Terry, and Bogs rights for a backup wing

Per Marc Stein:

Wanna know how new NBA world works? With essentially same payroll as Lakers last season, Nets will owe$70+ mil in tax after 2013-14 season

Wow, huge boost!

I remembered thinking if D-Will left, Billy King would be dead to me. Look what an incredible team he's put together.

AK left money on the table to sign with the Nets, this is a good move.

AK47 is a terrific signing for the Nets.

I wish the contract was more than a 1 year deal with a PO for the second. I know it sounds greedy but knowing that he is going to be here after this year would be nice. The Nets could be without their top two SF's to start next season.

Also, I am severely disappointed with the Summer league performances of Tyshawn and Toko. Both look like they have regressed. At least Plumlee looks solid.

NBA TV reported it was for a 1 year deal, but this was posted on Netsdaily.com:

Peter Vecsey reports that Andrei Kirlenko has agreed to sign with the Nets for the mini-MLE. Under the terms of the deal, as reported by others, Kirilenko will sign a two-year contract with a player option in year two starting at $3.1 million.

Not sure what the deal is yet. And I agree about Tyshawn and Tornike. I especially expected Toko to play half decent in the Summer League but it seems both Taylor and Shengelia just throw up random lay ups.

Honestly, I'd take AK over Gerald Wallace anyway.

I read this on NetsDaily, and it is definitely true:

Our bench now is better than the 09-10 starting 5 (hell, two of those guys aren't in the NBA any more, and two others are fringe starters/bench players)

One point that hasn't been mentioned yet is that after the C's lost Coach Thibodeau to Chicago Doc replaced him with Lawrence Frank before he moved on to Detroit. He was a very important part of he coaching staff and worked well with Pierce and KG. coaches aren't everything in the NBA, but given the challenges of such a "green" head coach I think the reputation of Frank with the players is very important.

I bet Kirlenko got a wink wink deal from the Nets that they'd re-up him for big money after this year to replace Pierce, hence why he took nothing to sign
